RUSH LIMBAUGH: BUSH "NO CONSERVATIVE"

Posted on 03/16/2002 10:01:26 PM PST by StopDemocratsDotCom

It took a while for Bush to win over Conservatives who now support him all way. That's why I hate it when the word RHINO is thrown left and right when talking about a Republican who may do something that seems out of step with what we agree with and we don't realize that politics is all about winning and looking like a "centrist"

Check out this 1999 Article:

Conservative talkmeister Rush Limbaugh blasted away at George W. Bush with both barrels today, stoking a possible clash between grass-roots conservatives and the front-running candidate who is already pursuing a centerist general election strategy.

"He's really wandered off the reservation here lately folks," Limbaugh intoned, before making the case against the recent Bush positioning.

"In my mind," he told his listeners, "no conservative running for president would make the kind of statements that he's made. No conservative running for president would leave his philosophical brothers and sisters dying on the congressional battlefield the way Bush did with that EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) thing. And now he's done it again with the speech at the Manhattan Institute. He's done it twice in seven or eight days time."

"This obviously is a carefully crafted strategy." Limbaugh continued. "What it means is that solid conservatives from Tom DeLay to Dick Armey, who are doing all they can to eke out small majorities and beat back Clinton and all his Big Government schemes-issue after issue-end up being emasculated by Bush's comments."

"Who wants a Republican moderate as president?" Limbaugh asked, a question the Bush camp must hope that other conservatives don't begin asking.

The only thing I see saving this country from socialism now is a Pinochet. We need a Pinochet.

We probably have a different idea of what a conservative is.

I am certain that is true.

So he has to act like a dem to be prez of "all the people"? WHY!?

OPEN BORDERS!!!! And, he'll not be re-elected because of them, and he supports them. LOL!!! Doesn't that tell "Joe Sixpack" something, good grief.

I did not mean "FDR" in a Socialist way (a man who saved my family from hunger and death, BTW), but in a patriotic way. GWB has done an outstanding job for our nation since 9/11. And as for Limbaugh (a person I used to listen to every day) - he should go back to his former life as a publicity agent for a major league ball team. IF they'll take the F.

Rushmouth is a no-borders, globalist, free traitor.

Bush2, like Bush1, is a no-borders, globalist, free traitor.

This is simply a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

More Rushmouth complaining about what he sees in the mirror.

How old were you when Jimmy Carter was Prez?...and the gasoline prices skyrocketed, and the going % rate was 19%....

Carter has done well with Habitat For Humanity, but he was a poor leader.

FDR led this country through the depression, he gave the people hope, and, the ability to face tommorrow.

FDR and Churchill paved the way to victory in WW2.

And, maybe you critize Truman for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well.

George HW Bush lost despite his war rating because he betrayed conservatives not because he towed the conservative line( did not veto the tax increase). If he towed the conservative line he would have won.

What I generally state on this subject is that Bush has done some things I very much agree with, and he has done some things I very much disagree with. When it comes to Bush he is a moral Giant compared to the human maggot we just got rid of. I believe that Bush's world view is vastly different than mine. As time goes by I think that it's going to become very evident that his world view differs with most the people here. They just haven't had their eyes opened yet.

Thank you, Joyce. That's what I mean. FDR is a Saint in my house. (And I am a "Conservative Republican.") The major event of FDR's life was when he was "black-balled" by an elite fraternity at Harvard as an undergradaute there. He vowed, at that time, to get back at them (those elite bastards...). And he did; with his social programs when he bacame POTUS. To this day, there is NOTHING, named after FDR at Harvard.

The patriot act doesn't bother me they can bust you just as easily on RICO etc so whatever abuses are in the Patriot act are redundant.

What an extremely odd way to convince yourself that it is OK.

You are too kind to me, I'm sure. **g**

Meaning...

...Rush WARNED us about Bush before he went into...how can I say this?...GOP Shill Mode during 2K...

...and when HR 1885 passed, Rush criticized Bush!

"See, I Told You So Before I Campaigned So Hard For Bush In 2000!"

Rush shouldn't be toying with us like that.
