He also said he doesn't know whether he will remain married to Andrea or how often he will visit her in prison. He said he misses the companionship of a wife and may like to have more children.

Sadly, there are lots of young women who would marry him in an instant, the ones who attend church in hopes of meeting a nice man but find nothing, and worry about growing old alone. I have no doubts that Rusty Yates will easily find a new wife (if he doesn't already have one lined up already) and it's not just because the above-mentioned reasons. There are lots of women who will want him because he's famous.

I am beginning to think that the reason Andrea was spared is because some on the jury didn't think it is fair that he couldn't be executed with her.
From that first tearless press conference he held in front of the family home with the pictures of the kids, I have thought there is more to Rusty than meets the eye. As revolting as he seems now, I think there's more to come.

Katie Couric will be interviewing Russell Yates on Monday morning on the NBC Today Show. After what she pulled in giving the number of the Andrea Yates support group, she shouldn't be let anywhere near him. A REAL news organization wouldn't let that interview take place. But I agree that Rusty deserves whatever's coming.

There are lots of women who will want him because he's famous. Who's to argue? O.J. still gets those blonde bimbos he likes so much -- until they leave him.

They didn't say she wasn't mentally ill, just that she knew right from wrong.

Oops my new (goofy) wife killed my boss. Oops my new wife killed that cranky neighbor. Oops my new wife killed that bothersome meter reader. Ooops...
Hey, maybe this guy is on to something.
But seriously, this guy strikes me as the flake of the year. Perhaps more than one year.

"I believe in Andrea. She is the kindest, sweetest, gentlest person I've ever met."
-Russell Yates
"Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."
-Bennett Marco in the Manchurian Candidate

Thanks for the heads up on the programming note, I don't want to miss this one!

According to a caller on KRPC yesterday he already has a lover. Has had for some time. Of course he does! I think he was cheating on Andrea way before she drowned the kids and this affair put her right over the edge!
He's a dog whose used to getting his sex and believe me he hasn't been sitting around going to bible readings!
I pity the next woman he marries, and there will be another, it's just a matter of time before Andrea is served her divorce papers and her family knows it that's why there was no joint news conference yesterday!

"Sounds like a control freak. To the extent of ignoring the psychiatrist warnings, he still continued to keep her pregnant"
In his statement on TV after the trial, he talked about having more children with andrea after she suffered PPD with a previous child, and his answer was that all the docs did was give her a shot of Haldal & she was fine, so he figured if she got PPD again, all she would need was one shot of Haldal and she'd be fine, but he blames the docs for not putting her on haldal this time. One shot of any anti-depressant isn't going to do the job, if it was that easy everyone with depression could be cured immediately!!!

Putting A.Y. on a regimen of medication(s) for the treatment of psychosis, WITHOUT requiring her to attend psychotherapy sessions as well was irresponsible on the parts of both her doctor and her husband. Since she is clearly criminally insane, she should be locked away forever. See my post #20 about R.Y.

I read your post #20, i agree totally. He IS a nutcase & shouldn't be walking the streets a free man!

I've been wondering if there was another woman involved. That is the only thing that makes any sense about this tragic story. And it's the only thing that would make a woman go that crazy. This whole thing has revenge written all over it.
