I'm not a psychiatrist, but I don't think that's right. Schizophrenia is a specific disease caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. I don't think you can get it because you weren't treated for something else.

I think you're right on the money, AFTR. I'm not a psychiatrist either (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night - LOL), but it seems to be like saying "all drinking leads to marijuana use or cocaine use." In some cases it might, but certainly not even close to all cases.

I'm not a psychiatrist either. You may be right, depression may not lead to Schizophrenia, but I do know that depression is also a specific disease caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, and if left untreated can lead to deeper depression.

Depression is the number one cause of suicide, and I have see people who are dealing with depression with out meds go into pyscotic fits and thro knives at people.

Her husband show have made sure she was being treated, and never left the kids alone with her. He, like many others probably thinks depression is just an excuse for "being blue". Depression is a medical illness, and needs to be treated.

That SOB of a husband is in front of the cameras right now, telling the reporters how much he took care of the children and aided his wife. He said he didn't think his kids were in danger. YET-- When she -- Andrea, called him after she killed her children, didn't she say "I finally did it" ---- He said "Which one?" and she replied "All of them."

Finally she is rid of this controling man, her incompetent doctors, and theclosed-in life she was leading. She was trapped by him, them, by drugs, and she lost all sense of 'feelings' ---even for her own children. When she realizes, finally, what she has done, (if she is treated and comes off drugs) she will pay for it.

This controlling husband came before the cameras and said he was not going to make a speech. He said he was just going to answer questions. BUT all he is doing is talk, talk, talk! He's trying to excuse himself from responsibility, but I put him at the root of his wife's problems.

I wonder how these poor, beautiful children would have turned out with a sick mother and this SOB of a controling father. No matter how bad their lives would have been, at least they would have been living and breathing.

All I'm hearing out of Rusty is, "My wife is a victim," and, "Me me me me me..." What a scumbag. He's real broken up about his kids (not). His kids are dead and all he can do is whine that his wife is not getting breakfast in bed at the Sheraton.

He needs to be in prison.

She might die a more HORRIBLE death than we could ever imagine right there in prison.

If there's any justice.

Looks pretty relieved, doesn't she?

RY said he wants more kids, indicated he may not remain married to AY-- count on it-- he won't. Plenty of blame for the system-- I'd blame him for whatever his culpability. Dealing with a family member with mental illness is tough. As an engineer-- he probably thought dealing systematic logic and control was best. Have to let Texico determine the fate of RY-- after all this, I don't know if there is enough anger left over for CPS to do anything.

I thought the unforgivable sin was blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?

That was what I heard/thought, too.

I'm not so sure that 'unforgivable' is adequate. I think even this is up to the discretion of God. For instance, I know of someone that is buried into his bible. He was a camp counselor at some bible camp. He studied psychology and wanted to be a youth counselor at his church. Yet, he was tormented because at some time in his past he had blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. I forget why he had done so. I have to believe that God looks at circumstances which might have led to such a thing.

"Finally she is rid of... the closed-in life she was leading."

I dunno, Exit. This side of the grave, Huntsville is about as "closed-in" as it gets.

I think the unforgivable (unpardonable) sin, the only sin that will condemn you to hell, is the sin of not recieving Jesus Christ as your personal saviour.

The Bible says it's God's will that all be saved, so if you don't get saved, you are going against God's will, which I think is the unpardonable sin.

"when she comes off drugs"

Do you understand that AY will be ordered by the court to take her medication while in prison-- and she'll be watched to see she takes it? Do you even understand treatment for severe mental illness? only about 5-10% of those diagnosed with schizophrenia, will ever be well enough to stop taking medication. The more relapses, the greater the chance that further brain damage from NOT taking it will be permanent*. (Present medical theory) Get your facts straight.

I put him at the root of his wife's problems.

I absolutely agree.

I would love to have had the opportunity to ask him what the he!! kind of mental problem he had/has in allowing his fundamentalist mentor/guru preach all that sick nonsense about a mother's being totally responsible agents of Satan if ANYTHING goes awry in the lives of her children.

I'm surprised the liberal media let this aspect slide. Personally, I think the untold story here is the cataclysmic combination of unfetttered, zany fundamentalism and a self-absorbed, clueless, irresponsible excuse of a husband.
