We hate to bring up religious division on this, the eve of St. Patrick's Day. But already Irishmen are being set against Irishmen, in the name of a new doctrine that one side hails as salvation and the other rejects as blasphemy. We're talking about "Quick Pour."

Guiness poured improperly tastes bad. Poured properly, it is nectar from Heaven!

Woa! Guiness is not "poured", it's pulled. Thank you.

I don't know about this. I'll have to run some taste tests on several dozen pints before I'm willing to render a judgement.

Who's buying the first round?

I just make sure my next one is being pulled before I finish the last one.

Faith, melad, there are still some things sacred in this secular age. Next thing you know we'll be hearing of Guinness Lite...

That would be Bass Ale. Which I also cherish.

Pint pullers at selected Irish pubs around the world will be wearing
the lenses for St. Patrick's Day, the drinks company said.

This is pure BS!

When I go to a bar or pub that serves Guiness I expect to stand at the bar and chat with all the other guys & gals that are waiting for theirs before I go back to my friends table. I've done that ever since they started opening bars in old-town Wichita, KS that served Guiness.

That’s my way of meeting people! I'm a shy geeky engineer from the middle of Kansas for cryin' out loud! I need all the help I can get.

If it aint broke- don't fix it. If it's Perfection- don't even think about messing with it. Guiness is like mother's milk. Why would they want to tamper with something that is so right?

On a side note, Murphy's is pretty good too, especially out of a fresh keg in County Cork. It's not quite as heavy as Guiness. I just think they should leave Guiness alone though.

As Diageo CEO Paul Walsh recently put it: "A two-minute pour is not relevant to our customers today."

So you wait a couple of minutes for your first pint, what's the big deal? Any Guinness drinker knows that all subsequent pints are ordered a few minutes before you finish the one in your hand.

If they are in such a hurry, then hang a bent spoon on the rim of the glass to speed up the pull, but don't ruin Guiness for the rest of us.

(in a Homer Simpson voice) Mmmmmm Guinness.... Since this is the first St. Patrick's Day since I turned 21, I am DEFINITELY going to be sipping pints of that beautiful drink that day. Also, I'm part Irish, so I have an excuse. ;-)
