Not that I disagree mind, I just want to make sure you get the correct credit. :)

No. The word "knowingly" brings human motives into what would have otherwise been a simple statement of fact.
Adding the word "knowingly" means either that someone knew the data was faulty yet allowed it to be published anyway, or falsified the data for some reason, and now has been discovered. It could also mean that a third party did the discovering. It's impossible to tell whether it was an honest mistake or a conspiracy of some kind from the headline.
A proper headline would have read:
Don't feel bad, such headlines are typical of the dumbed-down "journalists" who "write" for newspapers these days. Their college degrees are equivalent to what people of my generation (I'm 55) learned in grade school, as I point out every day to the 20-nothing graduates I work with, who don't know the speed of light, how many sqare inches are in a square foot, whether the Korean War was before or after WWII, or which is bigger, 1/3 or 1/4.

...but will not be prosecuted for fraud. They will not be prosecuted for destroying the lives of thousands of loggers, mill workers, and supporting businesspeople in Northern California and Southern Oregon.
How many times will a miscarriage of justice have happen before you will admit that Ashcroft is violating his oath of office at best, or is just as corrupt as Reno at worst. For the "top law enforcement officer" in the country to look the other way over this is a crime in itself.
Go ahead and flame me if you want for being an independent rather than a republican, but these people should be prosecuted. I will be very pleased if that happens, but it won't.
Being an honest person (some would say naive) it is still hard for me to believe that many people are so twisted that they are motivated by death, not life. I still have trouble believing it, but less and less as I get older. The evidence is becoming overwhelming that Ayn Rand was right in 1957 when she wrote in Atlas Shrugged [HTML added]:

We should all give a word of thanks to Judge Alex Kozinski of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for the "Daubert v. Merrill Dow" decision, in which the good judge single-handedly drove a wooden stake though the heart of junk-science in the courtroom.
That Bush didn't nominate him to the supreme court is a crime.
It is about time that we demand the same responsibility from government employees that we demand from employees in the private sector.

There are individuals in government employment who are criminally and financially liable, as well as some other individuals who perpetrated and/or profited from, these crimes against the people. Until some heads roll and some ill-gotten monies and assets are seized, it's not over.

Way to go Cecil!!! The problem is... the court of claims that also decided largely for Wayne Hage as well, took nearly ten years to rule. By the time the courts decide in favor of those being tormented by EnvironMentalCases, the damage is immediate and irreparable.
Yet, they get instant orders from the bench whenever they ask to stop whatever legitimate enterprise is going on. This system is so lopsided, it SUCKS!!!

You can thank ol' Jimmuh Cee for that state of affairs. - We need to do a super freep on those judges and shout them off the bench by demanding impeachment. Those same judges are doing damage in so many other areas, it would be a worthwhile effort.
