According to Florida State Statute 794.05, anyone who is 24 or older and has sex with someone 16 or 17 -- even consensually -- has committed a second-degree felony. It is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

GOOD

Here's one of the former pastors of that same church He links to a church has a sister church in Cuba. Is this one of those liberal Baptist churches?

``He was like the neighborhood watch.''

This is NOT a comfort.
Why would a crime watch savvy guy park his van in a suspicious place to have sex with a teen? He was self-destructive and wanting to get caught. Satan wins that round. He got the preacher, the kid and the church. Now as people twist into morality contortions to support the pastor he'll win more..... just as he wins when others are turned against the church.

Maybe it's like Julia Child said the time she couldn't make the Charlotte Russe stand up: “Well, I can't do it, but maybe you can.”

Some of the jerks in the Catholic hating media will probably blame the Catholics for this.

''He's been a faithful pastor and his service has been noteworthy,''

Well THEN we should just move on.

These "pastors, priests, clergymen, etc." are not of the church to begin with. They are infiltrators from the dark side.

I'm really tired of resding about men of the cloth being busted for perverted behavior.

On the other hand, I'd like to point out to everyone that the number of priests and ministers is in the millions, and the number of perverts among them is very tiny.

I'm just trying to put it into perspective. There are perverts everywhere. The media just ignores them unless they are religious leaders.

Note that the article has to drag in the Catholic bishop which has nothing to do with the story. And, as I recall, the bishop was not "accused" but rather "confessed" and resigned.

''He's been a faithful pastor and his service has been noteworthy,'' said Rev. David Cleeland..."

NO! WRONG!!

If he had been "faithful" he would not be engaging in sodomy with children!!!!

This would never have happened if Baptist ministers were allowed to get married.

Catholic bump == These incidents happen in all denominations, but we rarely hear about them. Glad to see this out in the media.

Internet chat room.

More power to the parents to monitor what their kids are doing on the internet. How sad.
