USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

..I also called the city councilman's office who joined us a couple of times and left a message for him that we need his help. ..Great idea. Have you and others called the Ray Appleton Show on KMJ580? He, himself, might join you.

"Of COURSE you look just like that! (You just have shorter hair) :)"
Uh huh, right. :-)
Well, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I'm glad Louie sees me that way. But he told me this he also sees me like this:
so I guess I shouldn't let it go to my head. LOL!
"I look just like all those I've posted, too! :)"
Well, judging by the photo on your profile page, you actually do. :-)

Hey kids. I hope everyone is doing ok. Ive missed yall today.
I couldnt decide if I should share this or not. I didnt want to be overly dramatic. Mr. Spooky called me today at 11:00 and said Stop packing. The company he is doing contract work for, has all of a sudden decided they are $25 million over budget in their I.T. department. Doh!! I was so shocked I was speechless, which has never happened before in my life. Then 2 minutes later, a whole slew of profanities came out. Then two minutes later I was crying. I have spent the whole afternoon in prayer. First I had to apologize for cussing, then I prayed for God to put us where he wants us. Im absolutely furious, upset, confused, frustrated, discouraged, you name it. Im furious because this is not the first time this has happened to us. Mr. Spooky gets a job, we join him later, then out of no where, Were sorry. Weve made a mistake. We cant afford you
.bubbye. Cant these freaking idiots get their act together BEFORE they uproot families? I guess thats just life, eh?
So anyway, if you could please say a little prayer for us, I would certainly appreciate it. There is a chance, they might be keeping him. If he loses this job, it wont be pretty, and thats a guarantee. (The bank says so). I just cant believe it. I know the Lord will take care of things and I trust his will for our life. Its just the timing is so frightening. What if they dont let him go, then we move there, then once we get there, they let him go (like what happened last time). What if
? What if
? What if
? Im just worried about my kids, and I really miss my husband.
Am I whining? Im guessing this is an average year for a military family. You are welcome to put me in timeout till I cool off if you want.

Hahaha, mine has a cat, though.A cat? Let's see it.
Er....has anyone told you you're beginning to look an awful lot like Billie? LOL
To: SpookBrat
Oh, I'm so sorry about your news. I will be praying for you and your family. I'm really glad you came here and told us what is going on. This group at the Canteen is a family and when one is hurting or struggling we all want to help. (HUG)

Since Louie likes to call you "Fuzzy", it makes sense he likes that side of you, but isn't it fun he also sees you as a
babe! I just love to open my mail and see another one there!
Thanks, Lori. :)

Hey Everybody!! GOOD to be Home again! :^)
Hope all was well at the Canteen today, have some catching up to do, LOL...
Well our wonderful weather forecasters got it wrong, again....but this time in reverse. Instead of 3-6 inches, we're now supposed to get a foot or more of heavy wet stuff.
SB, I'll be sending you so much this time, I think I will ship it by rail.Oh, and with all that going on, we get another visit from the RCFD...sigh
who...yep, you guessed it, Hey to ya.
To: SassyMom
Thanks hun. I can't stop crying. I'm trying to be hopeful and see the positive, but we've been down this road before and I'm so upset.
How is that bathroom coming? :)

..You are welcome to put me in timeout till I cool off if you want. ..I suggest you might want to visit the chapel here. It is a wonderful place to get one's priorities straight. Great comfort can be yours. I pray you will continue to look to Him. May He bless you and reveal His plans to you in this.

Hey, spook. My prayers are going up for you and your family. May it be His will that this puts you all into a better situation.

When I was a little child, my mother embroidered a great deal. I can remember the time when, as I was sitting at her feet and looking up at her, I asked her what she was doing. She informed me that she was embroidering.
I remarked that it looked like a mess from where I was. As, from the underside, I watched her work within the boundaries of the little round hoop in her hand, I complained to her that it sure looked messy from where I sat.
She looked down, smiling at me, and gently said, "My child, you go and play for now, and when I am finished, I will put you on my knee and let you see it from my side."
I wondered why she used some dark threads along with the bright ones and why they seemed so jumbled from my point of view.
Later, after some time had passed, as I was playing, I heard my Mother calling for me to come and sit on her knee.
I went to her, and as I settled into the comfort and security of her lap, my mother said, "My child, from underneath it did look messy and jumbled, but you did not realize there was a plan on the top, a design that I was following.
Now look at it from my side, and you will see what I was doing." Then, when she showed me her completed work, I was surprised and thrilled to see a landscape scene full of beautiful flowers adorned by the radiant glow of a magnificent sunset.
Many times, I have looked up to my Heavenly Father and asked, "Father, what are You doing?"
He has answered, "I am embroidering your life."
I say, "But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads seem so dark. Why can't they all be bright?"
My Father gently says, "My child, you go and do My will for now, and one day, I will bring you to Heaven and put you on My knee, and then you will see the plan from My side."

The bathroom is at a standstill until we can get the countertop done. It looks like that won't happen until next week. Oh well, it's almost done. :)
Hang in there - my friend.
