[history]
There's plenty of laughter and a little sadness in the hunting community over an incident involving a deer that collided with an automobile driven by two animal rights campaigners who belong to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The folks who worship at the altar of animals now want to sue a New Jersey game department over the incident, claiming it's the state's fault that it happened.

I hope Rush finds this.

Reminds me of that tree-hugger who was killed by a falling tree.

What could anyone possibly add to this?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
The deer, having checked its calendar, knew deer season was about to start, and it was attempting to dart across the road in search of a place to hide.

Where they more concerned about the damage to the car or due to the fact the poor deer was killed running into it? Those PETA bozos are priceless and this is even better than an April Fools' Day story. Bwahahaha!!!
To: TomGuy
So...why did the dear cross the road?

If you're a liberal, there is
nothing that isn't some government's fault.
Corollary: Nothing is your fault. Nothing.

Are they insisting that they, themselves, be charged with vehicular homocide? If not, why not
To: muir_redwoods
After all it is animalcide. And the deer was murdered after all. On trial the PETA wackos deserve to go and it would be a pleasure to see them end up behind the slammer.

THE IRONY OF THIS STORY MAKES ME...
To: Jeff Chandler
WHY INDEED? IT WAS CHASING A POTENTIAL MATE, BUT GOT PETA BRED INSTEAD.
To: muir_redwoods
This reminds me of a cartoon I saw of a couple of deers holding rifles and getting ready to start man hunting season.

PETA patrol bump...

Why couldn't these two leave their Honda garaged during rutting season, so these poor animals could have unfettered access to turnpikes and interstates at this important time?

Shortly before 1 o'clock in the morning on that date, while driving a Honda Civic belonging to PETA and while returning from a PETA...
Imagine how one of my SUVs would have wasted that thing.

Sorta puts the subject of "safe sex" in a whole different light.

If you're a liberal, there is nothing that isn't some government's fault. Wrong. As far as I can ascertain, liberals believe that the government can do everything, and should. If the liberals fault a government, it is only because, according to them, it is not doing enough, it is not intrusive enough, nor is it powerful enough.
I think these liberals are only complaining because the government didn't do what they wanted, even if it is impossible. Of course, they don't stop to ever think that they may never be the people in power, or that the people in power may want to put them in the gulag or to use them for cannon fodder.
This is excellent, though, because it shows how PETA wants what cannot exist: A world in which no one and no thing is ever, ever, hurt. Life and death require each other for existance.

They are just plain crazy.

Wrong. As far as I can ascertain, liberals believe that the government can do everything, and should. If the liberals fault a government, it is only because, according to them, it is not doing enough, it is not intrusive enough, nor is it powerful enough. Exactly. As some long-haired bozo told the 1992 Presidential candidates assembled for debate, "We are all your children."
Alas, not even the Republican, Bush Sr., told the guy to get a grip.
