The American Red Cross is at it again...

Well, once again stupidity's twin sister (political correctness) has lifted her dumb face in an organization that should, by now, know better. The American Red Cross has announced that they will not participate in a ceremony to honor certain people involved in the September 11, tragedy in New York. If the word GOD or prayer is going to be used they will not participate. They are afraid it may offend someone.
My first thought on this was, "If someone receiving an honor, an award or cash gift is going to be offended, let them refuse to receive anything and go their way in peace." "If someone giving a donation will be offended by the use of terms like GOD, and prayer, let them give their gifts somewhere else. It is plain they are more interested in advancing a cause than in helping people." If you are giving to help me, good. But if you are giving to make yourself look good, thanks, but no thanks! I'll live without it.
My second thought was, "Hasn't it dawned on these "rich beggars" that the American public are the people they should be worried about offending with this politically correct foolishness.?" How long can this silly nonsense continue to rule the minds of people?
Their attitude about helping people was made very apparent just a few months ago. The American people in our rich tradition of showing mercy gave hundreds of millions to the American Red Cross to relieve the suffering of our brothers and sisters in New York. The American Red Cross immediately set aside over half of the money to perpetuate their existence and expand some of the programs they had in their "dream folder". And after all, they had a plan to pass on a few dollars to the people who could qualify under their strict guidelines. They didn't have a clue that the money was for New York and not them. The high mark of arrogance and self admiration is thinking that it's all about you.
My father told me about paying a dollar a pack for cigarettes while laying in the hospital during WWII. The Red cross paid $.09 a pack for them in the PX. While in the hospital in Siagon, I would eat breakfast in the military mess hall each morning but could not touch the fresh made donuts. About 10:30 the Red Cross workers would go to the mess hall, get the donuts and mess hall coffee, and roll it through the different wards. The price for two donuts and coffee was a dollar.
Someone needs to stick a fork in this bunch, and tell them, "It's over, you're done!"

Maybe they'll just dump the Red "Cross" moniker altogether and all their divisons will henceforth call themselves
Red Cresecent so as not to offend the larger Muslim contingents of their International organization. After all, the cross is so offensive - a throwback to a racist, sexist, and homophobic 19th century - and unnecessary in our "global" world village.
BTW: how'd you like to be in a hospital under the loving care of "Red Crescent" volunteers?

60 Minutes and CBS just ripped a new one on the San Diego CA Chapter's president. Seems they tried to make off with 100s of thousands of dollars of donations after last years San Diego area fires with out helping the local victims.

I saw that too. Maybe this will open the eyes of those not fortunate enough to have learned about the red(double)cross here on FR.

Well, it's a good thing they didn't offend the Atheists, and various America haters.
Anybody care to make a donation? ... Anybody? ...

Know what's worrisome? Eliz. Dole headed the RC for a long time and made some very PC policy statements. not quite as blatantly PC as this mess, now, but pretty darn liberal. And to think she is running for Jesse Helms seat. That is very dissappointing.

I thought the best part of that segment was how after refusing assistance to one of the fire victims due to her having insurance, and after she found out that over 400k was donated for VICTIMS,she got no help. But alas, she is a Superior court judge,so using her connections, she gets answers. Just thought it was kind of funny,f***ing Red Cross messed with the wrong person this time hahahaha!

This may not be original and may have been suggested already but get FOX involved, they love it when FreeRepublic swamps them. It doesn't matter how many times you E-mail their programs, do it over and over, they will run the story for all to see and we know who #1 is in America now with the news. That is just one suggestion out of thousands.
Have you noticed that FR is getting a lot of attention lately and credit for spreading news that other's have not heard? This forum will be famous.

Best part of the 60 Minutes program for me was when they stated that after all this came out and there was another bunch of fires a grand total of $75 was donated. Gotta love it!
They also stated the lady that heads the San Diego chapter makes $390,000/year. Unbelievable!!!
Also unbelievable that she wouldn't submit to a 60 Minutes interview. Sent some retired military guy that's on the Board of Directors to defend her. 400K/year and she won't do an interview??? OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!

The San Diego CA Chapter's president got a $200,000 salary plus a $100,000 bonus---that must be what they do with the money.

I was really suprised to learn about how Dr. Bernadette Healy (sp?) quit, partly because the International Red Cross recognizes The Red Crescent, but not the Israeli version of Red Cross. After what they pulled--or tried to pull--with the 9/11 money, plus what they're doing to Magen David Adom (I had to look it up--I couldn't remember the "Adom" part)...and having my teeth grind together seeing the Red Crescent ambulances in Ramallah....uh nyuh, not a dime, not a nickel, not a penny.
And then I saw "60 Minutes" about the RC in San Diego & remembering the predecessor to Liddy Dole at the RC living lavishly at the expense of Red Cross donations--nope. There are many more worthy charities that'll appreciate my money. I always donate to the Salvation Army & St. Vincent de Paul and to local food banks, among others.

I'll have to double check the caption, but I beleive that yesterday's (Saturday)
Los Angeles Times showed two guys in blue outfits with "UN" in white letters
on it...helping an injured Palestinian.
The "victim" looked to be in MUCH better shape than the poor Israeli fellow missing his left arm
(severed above the elbow) in the photo posted on freerepublic.com yesterday.
Thanks for all the info/reminder about the furtive little b@stards running the
Red Cross (Internationally as well as domestically).

What the heck do they think the cross part of their name refers to? Perhaps they should just change their name to Red

I find it offensive, however I have issues with the Red Cross that go back to the late 50's. I have never given money or blood to the red cross and never will..

The Red Cross has stolen so much of the donor's money, they do not want their conscience awaken with the name of God being used. If I was as crooked as their souls are, I would run from God also.
