Yeah, it's entropy, and governments and cultures seem to be as subject to it as any other human construction.

That is exactly what happened in South Africa. I know, because I was there and I saw it happen This author is very convincing. Scary stuff.

The fate of the native SA, "the Boer" was sealed when they were conquered by the British. One must admire them nonetheless for their futile struggle against the worlds most voracious power at the time. The willingness of the English to starve and murder their women and children turned the day.

I think it's a given that there were differences between pre-Mandela South Africa and the USA, but the article posted was a warning about the similarities in terms of the future.
Whatever our faults, the metamorphosis mentioned in this article is taking place here, and if we don't want what happened in South Africa to happen here, we need somehow to change course.
The outcome of O.J. Simpson's trial, with one of the black jurors raising the right fist of solidarity at the announcement of the verdict is a perfect example of what this article addresses. I think it also applies to the Cincinnati riots, as well as others, where rioters basically got away with criminal behavior because of their skin color. To those who let people like Jesse Jackson and his gang speak for them, equality doesn't mean equality; it means getting even.
So you and others can worry about how things weren't fair for blacks in the past, whether here or elsewhere (personally, I think their conditions were deplorable) but what's at issue is our society, the destruction of which - such as what happened in South Africa - is not justified by past behavior.

Put together this story with unlimited numbers of illegal immigrees. Many parts of America are already ghetto areas, and know firsthand rioting and general lawlessness.

Right! Like a flood it seems, it comes. Those giving this county away can be proud of themselves as they are stewed. To those who now come, the founding principles mean nothing.

"Payback..." Sounds sort of like the reparations movement.

"live in luxury in their enclaves and ignore the nearby slums".....
Perhaps the author was being kind enough to not remind us of conditions that exist in your own backyard. I do not live in a slum, and I venture not many on FR do. Two blocks away from me are slums and to say I ignore them is extreme. This borders on the insanity that we in the western world forced onto other countries in the name of "compassion". The type of government that South Africa had cannot be blamed for all of the ills now found in that country.
The author is trying to pass along a warning to people of the U.S. To attack his background is to ignore his message at our own peril.

"It never ceases to amaze me that people living in third world countries whose ancestors never built anything worth noticing feel they're entitled to everything ever produced anywhere in the world by anyone."
In the late '60s the father of a friend was brought to South Africa by a prospective employer. This guy was more of an Archie Bunker type than "bleeding heart liberal". He was revolted by the normal everyday treatment of the blacks by their white "masters" (Master was, he said, the form of address black employees were required to use when responding to their white employers). He said he couldn't wait to get out of there.
Later in the early '80s a close friend went to South Africa as a missionary (again, no liberal) she said the whites had sown the seeds of their own destruction. It was not only the men who went to the cities to work but also the women. The people left in areas reserved for blacks were those too old or sick to work and children. She told a story of a white women who was present when her black maid was informed that her child had died (back in the black homeland). The maid cried and the white women said "Oh look, she cries just like us."
What you fail to grasp is that the blacks in South Africa were not fat and lazy sitting with their hands out demanding the fruits of the labor of others, but the right to live with their families and some of the fruit their labor had produced.

Marauder.....
Your comment about the OJ trial is right on. That sad event should have been an awakening for all Americans. Apologists such as we have here, say nothing about that event or what it portends. Neither do they address the African dictators mentioned by the author, rather they repeat the old tired communist/socilist/liberal lines about the African repression by the white man.
Anytime the liberals are faced with facts, they deflect the message by attacking the messanger.

With all due respect, to me your reasoning seems rather distorted when one considers the facts.

Welcome to FR. Here random use of the word Nazi is very much respected as confirming the wisdom, fairness and high moral basis of your opinion. The correctness of your opinion is therefor no longer open to dispute.
