ORANGE COUNTY, March 8, 2002 The Sunday volunteer recognition program at the American Red Cross Orange County Chapter in Santa Ana, California, honors America both through the presentation of colors and in the music program. The American Red Cross Chapter in Orange County and the Orange County High School of the Arts regret that we were not able to reach agreement on the music program with conductor Cherilyn Bacon. The dispute was over the music program and has nothing to do with patriotism. "God Bless America" is a wonderful song. The event begins with the posting of the American Flag and the singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner." The dispute centers only on our sensitivity to religious diversity, and a preference for a music program that would be inclusive and not offend different populations participating in this particular event. © Copyright 2001, The American Red Cross, Orange County Chapter. Nuthin new about that. Same as they charged for the coffee and donuts at the Red Cross clubs overseas while the Salvation Army gave out the same at no charge.
And they also CHARGE people for that blood that you donate.
Not a dime of my money will they ever see!

The American Red Cross had approx. 2.5 billion in revenue and approx. 1 billion was used for wages and salaries.
We need to start watching these nonprofits more closely in America.

Does anyone know where the Red Cross luncheon event is being held on Sunday? What time? I want to be there singing some of my favorite songs. (It feels so good to be a lurker no more.)

Dirty rotten commies! Seems that they didn't learn much from the bad publicity O'Reilly dished out to them. How I hope they get another real dosing. The first was just incompetance, this is anti-American/Anti-Christian!!! In addition to the national red cross, the following is the address to tell the Orange Country chapter how you feel.

What I find most interesting about the Red Cross is how much disdain many WW II vets have for them.
My father (God rest his soul) was all over the Pacific theatre in WWII and learned to despise the Red Cross for (what he said was) their gouging, corruption and lack of real care for the GIs.

inclusive Well, it is our national anthem. If people don't want to sing or stand in respect then they know what they need to do.

We need to start watching these nonprofits more closely in America. The way I know if a charity has the correct moral standing is their postition on abortion. If they waffle or beat-around-the-bush when the question is posed then NO MONEY for them.
I have yet to see a prominent, published, and willing-to-admit pro-life group that wastes money. Your money goes to save the unborn, maybe not in America, but elsewhere in the world.
It's the mainstream "non-profits", that can't be bothered with pro-life concerns, that are ramped with corruption and waste.
If someone can post to the otherwise, please do.

inclusive = exclusive, religion-wise.
John Gibson tore 'em up on FOX yesterday.

It is interesting to reflect that the cross in the Red Cross derives from reversing the colors on the Swiss flag. The Swiss flag is a white cross on a red background. That flag, like most European flags, is derived from the various national versions of the crosses the crusaders wore to represent the part of Europe they came from. There were no national colors or nations in the modern sense back then, but localities did adopt various combinations of colors to represent where they were from. For instance, the English wore a red cross on white background, which is now the official International Red Cross combination. The Scots wore a diagonal white cross on blue, the Swedes a yellow cross on blue, etc. It is amazing how many European flags are based on versions of the Christian cross. The point to this is that the Red Cross uses an eponymous symbol with direct lineage to the uniform of the crusaders; i.e., a Christian symbol of great antiquity and meaning.
When I was in Vietnam I had duties involving escorting representatives from The International Committee of the Red Cross from Geneva to the POW camps that we maintained for the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese regulars we had captured. The CICR (Comité international de la Croix-Rouge as they insisted on calling themselves) were composed of a bunch of extremely left-wing anti-American Swiss civilians and one Swiss brigadier General who was OK. The civilians did everything they could to make life hard for us. I know they were not even allowed to inspect the intolerable conditions in which our prisoners were kept in North Vietnam.
I have no respect for this outfit and not only will I never contribute to it; I will not even contribute to umbrella organizations that collect money for them such as the Community Chest, etc.

You make an excellent point. They have no problem accepting the In God We Trust currency. What hypocrites! Since they want no mention of the Christian faith or our Constitution, we all need to respect their wishes and send them no more United States currency.

ALERT! ALERT!!! ALERT!!!
Just called Dana on her cell & gave her a big what for .
She was very much trying to explain to me that the information that came out was wrong.
That things didn't happen the way they are portrayed,
I of course, let her have it, but suprisingly, she was very nice and wanted to know what was pissing me off so strongly.
After explaining my feelings in detail ( offending, diversity, PC crapola) and telling her the statement put out was lame and pathetic I directed her to FR so that she could see how angry and disgusted people are.
She just called me back to get the web address! She said she is looking now!

In 1968 the North Carolina chapter of the Red Cross came to our base at Cherry Point and sold the USMC a bag of s$it. "Donate (x) amount of pints and you and your immediate family would NEVER have concerns if you or yours ever needed blood." Every Marine I knew donated and filled the quota and had the dated card when the left North Carolina. After being discharged and returning home my mom was in need due to surgery. The Red Cross in Pennsylvania advised us that they were very sorry and would have to charge us because the blood donated by the servicemen to the North Carolina chapter was only good in North Carolina.

The Red Cross has shown themselves to be anti-American. Their grant proposals should all be denied. They should not receive one more cent of taxpayers' money. Someone needs to start the Red, White, and Blue Cross.

America, the true America is very "offended that different populations" are attempting to destroy our lifestyle, because they just don't like it. That's where the sensitivity should focus. The host people of this nation are now done with being careful to offend other nationalities, if foreigners are here, then they should live according to our culture. No more oppression from foreigners and diversity clubs.

why does religious diversity mean christians get shafted?? Like that church that banned the Boy Scouts because they wanted the church to be inclusive to "everyone?" ( except God fearing Boy Scouts, of course. Too politically incorrect for their God. Way too moral.)
