Additionally I think that it came out that they guys joined up with racists while in prison. This longstanding aspect of prison culture doesn't get much coverage in the news. G. Gordon Liddy has discussed it at times on his radio show.
Liddy recommends not joining up with any gangs in prison, yet he acknowledges that the different power groups will all try to establish their pecking order over anyone new in the system. Liddy made a ring in the metal shop that he used to win a few fights and pretty much stayed unaffiliated. Timothy Leary stayed independent by working on a prisoner newspaper and directed the inmates anger against the jail system rather than him or the different gangs, but yes even Leary talked with white racists in prison.
Some people have the strength or brains to fight their own battles once they are in that environment, others want or need help when a gang comes to fight them. If the prison system were to protect the inmates or prosecute inmates who attack and kill then things might turn out differently.
I don't read a lot on this subject and don't have direct knowledge of it, but I do know that the situations exist.

I know exactly what they are going through. Be kind to her -- she needs support. The deployments are so hard on families.

Hit-And-Run Victim Stayed Trapped
Mallard allegedly told police she had been drinking and using the drug Ecstasy the night Biggs was hit. The impact hurled him headfirst through the windshield, leaving his broken legs protruding onto the hood.
He did nothing. Again, this trapped man was in his garage. Brought there by someone else, but he chose to do nothing. That made him an accessory to the crime.
I do not know why he has not been jailed yet.
The others who dumped the body will likely be charged (after it has been determined who did what).
They need to be careful is defining the charges so that the culprits do not get away with their crimes but it does seem that there are other people who aren't getting enough scrutiny right now.

Flying low... My son was going down a country road a few years ago and hit a foggy patch and didn't see the horse in the road. The horses head came through the windshild the body flew up on the roof and when it came down it landed on the road. He was probably going about 50 MPH on that particular road. We were thankful he had just dropped off his date or she would have been sitting in the passenger seat and would have been killed. From the pictures I have seen on TV it was probably the freeway.. I still can't imagine her driving home with a man on her hood and no one saw her unless it was VERY late at night and no one was on the roads and she didn't have far to drive.

The stupid murdering bitch should think twice about dishing out death threats, whether in person or by proxy. She is the one who is restricted to the house. Anyone who wants to get revenge for the poor murdered man won't have a hard time finding her. Maybe there will be an accidental fire at her place and the fire department will be to busy to get there in time.
