Don't these guys take your blood...give you nothing in return except maybe a cookie or two, and if you ever need blood they charge you both arms and a leg to get a blood transfusion?
To: Timesink
Thank you for the e-mail address. Here is the e-mail I sent with the title: "America the Beautiful Offensive?"
Maybe the Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross needs to delete the word "American" from the title of the agency. You people are not true Americans if you cannot tolerate a song that honors our country while our servicemen are dying in the mountains of Afghanistan protecting our freedom.

Salvation Army gets things free, and they give it back for free if someone needs help.
They have thrift stores to pay for the soup kitchens, shelters, and other aids.
We went through hurricain Agness. Lost everything.
Red cross charged us full price for aid, but the Salvation Army gave us everything for free, even toys for us kids!

I used to be amazed at those who espouse tolerance...but are so rightously intolerant themselves.
Nowadays...when I'm confronted by those of this species....I say, "Boy, you sure aren't very tolerant now..are you"...That usually reduces them to a spitting, spouting fit...and they furrow their brows and usually just turn around and leave. Wala..!!
Works better than pepper spray...........;)

PS...I've taught my kids to never, ever pass their little red bucket when they see one. During Chrismas shopping one day , we saw 6 kettles, and put in a total of $18 in one trip!
I couldn't tell you how much we put in through the Christmas hollidays. The kettle came first, before we entered a store.
It's a wonderful feeling to know those who need food and shelter are getting it on those cold frozen winter nights.

Your right, they are a good charity.

Maybe the Red Cross is getting a little too RED, for its britches.
To: MissAmericanPie
Did anyone find out which school district this occurred at? Or did I miss it earlier in the thread?

Glad to hear that. We always donate to the Salvation Army.

Salvation Army, for sure.
When I was born, the RED Cross refused to pass the news on to my father, in the Army during WWII, unless my mom gave a "substantial" donation. He eventually got the news V-mail.
Daddy also remembers disembarking and being handed a cup of coffee and a donut by a RC volunteer; then being told to ante up 15 cents. He said he threw the coffee in her face.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER donate to the RED Cross.

and therefore you are withholding blood and monetary donations from the American Red Cross, and consequently needy Americans, in protest. This comment is unbelievable. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't turn you in to the police for being so heartless, withholding blood and monetary donations from need Americans. There oughta be a law!
