Tom Daschle Senate Leader and former Intelligence Officer Had NO CLUE about Shadow Government!
Fox News Channel ^

Posted on 03/03/2002 5:23:28 AM PST by Recovering_Democrat

I've heard it all. The U.S. government has had a "shadow" government contingency plan for 40 or 50 years, and Tom Daschle is just now expressing his ignorance about the concept. Is he really this stupid, or is he lying? Either way it's unacceptable to have such a man making policy decisions for our nation. My friends on FR who have Fox News Sunday say Tom Daschle today expressed concern about not knowing about the "shadow" government President Bush is beefing up in case of a nuclear attack on Washington DC.

Isn't this clown the Senate majority leader and a former INTELLIGENCE officer? Wouldn't you think someone who supposedly has all these resources would know about a basic backup to our government that has been in place since the mid-1950s????

Daschle just loves to argue. Imagine his reaction if the Excutive Branch forced a plan for a congressional shadow government? He would have been just as vocal. IMHO - Since we have three(3) equal branches of government, it should be up to that branch to formulate their own emergency plan. Bush is just ahead of the curve because his administration can actually see past elections and politics.

He's lying. He also changes his stance on the War on Terror when he's on the tube.

He is such a liar, I'd say he's worse than the Clintons.

The reasoning behind not telling the Democrats sensitive issues, perhaps some can't pass muster for even a low level security clearance, and I'd say that could include Hillary Clinton.

About Daschle, this jerk would be in front of a microphone whining about it, before he learned details. I can easily understand why everything isn't told to Congress; the left is little more than a joke.

Well, would you tell this idiot anything of importance? I wouldn't. He would obviously use any info for political gain.

BTW, you can get Fox News Sunday on off-cable Tv, on the regular Fox channel (not the same as Fox News Channel).

Daschle says nothing that hasn't been faxed to him from the DNC......in other words, Terry McAuliff. Seems that if a demonrat ever expects to get any support from the DNC they will toe the line or else!

I think it's interesting that the little man was elected by fewer votes than the population of Houston.

I'm glad he doesn't play well outside the chambers of the Democrats in the Senate; but he doesn't seem to be having much luck leading the senate Democrats.

Byrd, Hollins, Daschle. Three good reasons to be thankful for being a Republican.

Supposing there was no real "Shadow Government", and it was fabricated to demoralize our enemies, couldn't it at least be said that Tom D. encourages them to try to strike at the heart of our governmental activity. Ironically he may be placing himself at greater risk.

Is he really this stupid, or is he lying?

In answer to your question...YES.

Ask yourself, "What is Puff's job at this point?"
1.There is a congressional election coming up...
2.Demoncraps MUST take control of Congress
3."If we tell a lie enough times, the sheep will believe
4.With the electorate that sits on the fence (moderates) "We'll win"

Basically, he has to whittle down the support our current administration currently enjoys. IMHO, let them talk. Their retoric shows just who are the real patriots and who are the real traitors. Come election time, it should be really easy to weed them out.

Check the bio of Daschle. This man has never had productive employment in his life. Beware of such people.

.....a plan for a congressional shadow government

There already is such a plan. It's been around since the '50's, just like the plan for the Administrative brance of government. Daschle is simple lieing. That's a common enough Democrapic ploy.

Tom Daschle Senate Leader and former Intelligence Officer Had NO CLUE about Shadow Government!--or anything else for that matter.

Is he really this stupid, or is he lying? In other words, is he a scoundrel or a fool? I don't know, but a Liberal has to be one or the other--unless he's both.

Funny how Dashole and those like him think that those of us who pay the bills and make the country work haven't got the smarts to wipe our butts without them having a rule about how to do it. I hate these people.
