Undoubtedly, that tape needs to be made available for the public to see

Why? Is it not enough that the man is dead, but we have to have the "right" to watch him be killed?

How about just a few color pictures in Time Magazine? Something the kids can see while we're at the laundromat or waiting for the dentist?

I agree and while they are at it, show what an abortion is and DOES to the developing baby. It's horrendous. Yet it routinely goes on each and every day. When in a planned pregnancy clinic, the patient is NOT allowed to view the ultrasound of the developing baby BECAUSE 90% of women considering an abortion WILL change their minds when they are hit with the FACT that this is alittle human being.

I know we must be protected from the ugly reality of these people. On the other hand we have a scenario like this:

" Limbaugh and his callers rightly noted that the media didn't have any problem repeatedly showing the gory visage of our dead, nude soldiers being dragged throughout the streets of Mogadishu, Somalia. Did "dignity" or concern for the soldiers' families come into play? Of course not! And just a few short months ago, the American cable news channels provided immediate, on-site coverage (via Israeli TV) of the aftermath of grisly suicide-bomber attacks. Shocked American viewers were subjected to vivid, almost surreal, coverage of bloody body pieces strewn all over the place, and without adequate warning."

Repeated over and over and over again without warning during prime time.

Why the double standard?

I don't see how the Pearl kidnapping and execution weakens Musharraf in any way. If anything, it strengthens his moral authority to take action against Islamic Fundamentalists in his own country.

These terrorists really goofed. They killed a reporter who would have given them good press, and they gave Musharraf a license to kill them.

Let's not kid ourselves and recall the primary purpose of commercial telebision in this country. Would showing the tape help the advertisers sell their products? Or, at the very least, how would it affect the sales of their products?
