Dubya seems to be Rambo, Rummy is Conan the Barbarian, Powell is Batman, Condi- Xena Republican Warrior Princess and Dick Cheney appears to be Elliot Ness.

Yeah, I love the picture, and the Dog Tag pretzel is pretty funny too.

OMG!! When I saw this poster posted yesterday on one of the posts here, I thought a clever Freeper designed the Cover pic just for the humor of it! I didn't know it was an ACTUAL cover from a rag! OMG...LOL! LOVE the PRETZEL!

Don't speak German but would love to have the cover as a poster. I still have a smattering of German (not enough to read a magazine like this, though), and would like it in poster form if they were to publish one.

The pretzel around his neck is too funny..

Don't speak German but would love to have the cover as a poster. They would make a mint selling posters.
I'd buy one.

Checked Der Spiegel's web site. I couldn't figure out how to order this week's copy.
Anyone else try ?

"Americans' reduce complex problems to manageable confrontations"--as Alexander slashed the Gordian Knot!
"...as Osama bin Laden chillingly demonstrated on September 11, even the greatest military dominance can offer little effective protection..."--when taken by SURPRISE!
"That is why Bush is now making every effort to deprive so-called rogue states of such means, before they can be used against America"--including the element of Surprise!
"Yet even Bush's allies doubt that the accused regimes are as dangerous as he claims." Nevertheless however, brilliant leader that he is, Bush is taking no chances. America will prevail over international terrorism, and, thanks to the Americans--once again--Europe will prevail also.

I think you meant to say voila, didn't you? A viola is one of those things like a big violin. Maybe you meant to say viola. Sorry.

I don't think the Terminator wears a suit.

Here's the actual and full caption from the AP World Photo Wire (link at top of thread):
A billboard for the German newsmagazine 'Der Spiegel' is posted on a downtown street in Berlin, Germany, Tuesday Feb. 19, 2002, showing George Bush sporting a machine gun in front of various cabinet members. The German headline, 'Die Bush Krieger, Amerikas Feldzug gegen das Boese' translates 'The Bush Warriors, America's battle against evil'. (AP Photo/CP, Fred Chartrand)
I agree, if they marketed this as a poster here in the States, they would sell like hotcakes (or pretzels :-). Especially so, if they would put the words in English:
THE BUSH WARRIORS
America's Battle against Evil

The magazine can commonly be found at any reasonable sized newsstand that carries foreign magazines (including chains like Borders, Superstand, etc.).
I don't know if this issue is available yet (generally a lag behind the coverdate).
If you had a physical copy of the magazine, some copying places (such as Kinkos) may be willing to make you an enlarged copy of the cover (cheaper and larger in b&w).
It's a suggestion.

In an effort to boost sagging sales, Der Spiegel puts some real heroes on the cover.

Cheney looks like he's just out bird hunting again at some "undisclosed location".
