Maybe he's a victim of Yankee public education, and doesn't realize how badly the so-called "civil war" destroyed the Constitution.

If so, I'm living proof that there's hope for him yet. I used to think the Confederate flag was a symbol of racism and our nation's darkest hour. Now, I know it represents states' rights and the Constitution.
