Enron?
Now if the press could just somehow connect this scandal to the vast right-wing conservatives and President Bush, they'd be in hog heaven.
And I'm sure their gray matter is working overtime trying to find some way to make the connection.

The Italians are supposed to finish first in Ice Dancing.
Russia will get the silver and France is guaranteed the Bronze, according to the Toronto paper that broke the story.
The IOC can react by throwing all the figure skating out of the Olympics. That is the only thing that could really be done that is positive.

Too late for that, Chris. Someone asked Ashcroft about it at his press conference just now. He said he couldn't comment on it...not appropriate at this time. Hahaha!
To: codebreaker
Can you post a link to that story??

A reporter just asked ASHCROFT to comment on this and are WE going to have an investigation? Is "fixing" a sporting event a federal crime? Serious question.
To: Miss Marple
Eurotrash now complaining of getting booed by the reporters in the room.
To: codebreaker
Man I wish I could see this.

Finally, figure skating makes a positive contribution to our culture. The press has now sided with us against the Eurotrash.
To: TontoKowalski
Since it could potentially affect interstate commerce, it just might be.
To: Miss Marple
what was ashcroft's response....you know how reporters are..this will really spin out of control since the head is attacking them in a less than Rummy finesse.
To: Dog
Its been posted twice this morning on the Olympic Bump list.

No kidding! Thanks to all those watching for the blow-by-blow reports. Good stuff!
To: codebreaker

I think the Italians just got guaranteed they won't win the Ice Dancing gold medal. Everybody will give them a lower vote to avoid the appearance of a deal.

Fixing sporting events on our soil??
Sounds like a federal crime to me..
To: Wyatt's Torch
Well, I think this is a fine investigation for Congress. We could have all sorts of testimony...Peggy Fleming, Dick Button, Scott Hamilton....LOL!
To: codebreaker
The ISU expected to come in here, say "we're looking into it," sweep it under the rug, and that it would go away. Oops.
This guy's ridiculous performance just elevated this from a judging controversy to a full-blown international incident. Pass the popcorn...this is BETTER THAN THE GAMES!!!
To: Miss Marple
He says these questions are hypothetical! HA!
