DJ FBI/Terror Alert -2: Attack May Come Early As Tuesday

WASHINGTON (AP)--The FBI issued an extraordinary terrorist alert Monday night, asking law enforcement and the American public to be on the lookout for a Yemeni man and several associates who might be plotting a terrorist attack as early as Tuesday.

The FBI scrambled to put the warning out after information emerged that one or more people were involved. Officials said the intelligence, while deemed credible, was not specific about possible targets.

The alert identified one possible attacker as Fawaz Wahya al-Rabeei, a Yemeni national born in Saudia Arabia in 1979. It listed about a dozen associates of al-Rabeei.

The FBI is probably not making this up. They even put it out in a hurry, before having pictures to go with it. (Wanted to make the evening news?) So why now?

Tomorrow is a new moon.

The Hajj has either already started, or is supposed to start soon. (I even checked some Islamic web sites, and did not get a straight answer.)

Is the start of the Hajj tied to the new moon? (quite possible)

Is that why tomorrow is considered high risk?

This is a real alert, FREEPer friends. Not a joke.

As Long as airport security spends as much time frisking little old blue haired ladies as they do searching middle eastern appearing men, the government's reaction to the terrorist threat itself is a joke. If we don't do some serious "racial profiling" as a protective measure, then I have to take all their warnings as a joke.

I gotta go flying on Wednesday. I'm taking this thing a lot more seriously than our politically correct security system. If they seach some little grey haired lady and let some middle-eastern appearing man get on without a full body cavity search, then I'm probably going to have to miss my flight.

Wow, that's the first time I can remember their giving such detailed info. They even have a name and country of origin of the erstwhile perp.

I was about to make some snide remark about how people are beginning to pay about as much attention to these vague warnings as they do to a car alarm going off in their neighborhood.
