Justice's why I FReep tonigh-ight!!!

Got two reasons why I stay awake each lonely night.
The first one's named Sweet Liberty and she's my heart's delight.
Second one is Justice, Willie, Ol' Mudboy's on yer tail!!
And when MUD catches up with you, you'll spend yer life in jail!!

Gotta wife and children, Slick, but yer thugs shan't cow me!!!

"Rush, the loveable lug, is wrong about GW, IMHO. He would be better off handling this CFR as Rummy would....simple statements of fact, "it's bogus," rather than these daily diatribes to the choir."

It's a big issue, RC, and not one that you or I or Rush should be thinking back later saying I wish I'd have done more to sound the alarms against this nullification of our First Amendment Rights.

"He's disrespectful of his audience and the President. How many of us knew everything Rush has been repeating the last three days before the final vote last week?"

I disagree, my FRiend, Rush respects the heck outta Dubyuh and is doing him a positive service by focusing attention on this issue before it is too late. As for us knowing about this: sure, FReepers are aware of the implications but we are--at most--80 thousand folks and I'm not even sure what percentage of them folks know the damage this legislation inflicts upon our free speech rights. Rush's got an audience of 20 Million-plus, and those folks need to be informed and motivated to make change...I hope Rush keeps hammerin' this issue for the good of the GOP and Dubyuh, and the Nation!!

"President Bush knows."

He may indeed, but he surrounded by a lotta folks who see political conflict as a negative and compromise as the salve fer all occasions. Dubyuh needs to display some spine on this issue and take on--head-on--the DemonRATS who will whine about it...and I believe he will!!

"I have been away a few days."

I know the feeling...I've been busy as a one-legged man in an arse-kickin' contest and it don't look like it's gonna let up fer a spell. However, as Spring starts to kick in, we're gonna take it up a few notches...America's future depends on it!!

"Great song!!"

Thanks, my FRiend...I'm gonna have to pull together a CD of original MudTrax fer some of the folks (i.e. Landru and Sultan) whose music collections lack the newer stuff like R.E.M. and U2 and Pearl Jam so they can get a feeling for the tunes that my bandmembers like playin'. Of course, we also dig a lotta the older stuff, too, like Dylan, Skynyrd, and the Stones.

Quoting from your link, and this should be repeated and repeated like a mantra:

"There are also political ramifications surrounding Global Crossing. The head of the Democratic National Committee, Terry McAuliffe, turned a $100,000 investment in the fiber-optics firm into an $18 million profit before it filed for bankruptcy protection.

Critics are comparing McAuliffe's profiteering to the actions of executives of failed energy giant Enron Corp., which filed for bankruptcy Dec. 2 after concealing massive losses.

McAuliffe managed to arrange a golf date between Global president Gary Winnick and President Bill Clinton before the latter left office. Shortly thereafter, Winnick contributed $1 million to Clinton's Little Rock, Ark.-based presidential library, the Washington Times reported yesterday.

Global then began negotiations with the Clinton administration for a $400 million Defense Department contract. Global won the contract last July, but the Bush administration rescinded the contract a month later after losing bidders raised a fuss over the bidding process, the paper said.

"The point is not that McAuliffe did anything wrong necessarily in Global Crossing … but that he tried to make a political issue out of Enron to use against Republicans and President Bush in particular — and did it gleefully without compunctions," David Norcross, a lawyer and former Republican National Committee general counsel, told the paper.

Yes, let's FOCUS on this. (FOCUS = FRiends of the Constitution of the United Staes.)

Regarding McAuliffe, these words are apropos:

Your companions are like the buttons on an elevator. They will either take you up or they will take you down.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20

As expected, Eric Cantor voted "NO!"

Wouldn't it be great, if before he left the senate, Jesse Helms put the final nail in this bill's coffin?

As expected, Eric Cantor voted "NO!"

Cantor has turned into a good conservative. I am a little surprised - I supported Steve Martin in that Primary, because I thought Cantor would become a Warner RINO.

"The campaign finance bill got a boost as Oregon GOP Sen. Gordon Smith said he would oppose efforts by Republican colleagues to filibuster the legislation. That could provide the 60th vote necessary to clear the way for final passage, expected next week."
- Wall Street Journal, 2/22/02

Well, isn't that nice?! Another RINO helping the enemy!
