At least we wont have to sit through all of the BS to find out we finished 2nd.
KC Boutillier the 5,000 meters skater is in second place with the Dutch champion still to go. (according to the LIVE broadcast in Canada.)

U.G.:
Stand by for whining from all the children.
Down here near Douglas Arizona, we're getting NASCAR.
Why? I asked a local who knows.
"Because there aren't many skiers in Douglas, but we do have car racing fans....and that includes customers on both sides of the border."
....'course if the whiners really cared, they coulda' bought tickets and gone in person!
To: KirklandJunction
How can we buy a ticket to every event?
To: KirklandJunction
Yes, NBC still has to make money during the Olympics. But they lock the rights up tight, and then butcher the coverage. Why can't another station just televise the Olympics, live, as they are happening? I know the answer, but it is still irritating, especially when the tickets to see an Olympic event live is expensive.
To: oldvike
If anyone can get Canadian TV on cable or satellite, they are doing a number of live morning events (cross country skiing and the moguls today). However, bewarned: like NBC breaks for car racing (give me a break?! Is there anything duller than watching a car go round and round?), the Canadian stations break for NHL Hockey games.
Both countries do it. You'd think with all the cable sports networks out there that someone would do a wall to wall with all of the events covered (good grief, they do that here for our stupid state legislature -- talk about BORING!).
To: Utah Girl
This is negligence of the highest order someone should call the FCC, showing infomercials to the public.

We had that about 15 years ago the 'Olympic Triplecast' where you had to pay to watch, and no one signed up.
Now they have three network channels devoted to the Olympics and still screw it up!

Thank you for the NBC email....followed the links to the Brokaw show and let go with my heartfelt feelings. I expect he welds some power there and I cannot bring myself to write to katie colic. She is too stupid to waste words on.

And then NBC wonders why the Olympics ratings keep declining!!! I know it is difficult to televise the Olympics from a time zone eight hours away, but this one is in the US. There are people who do want to watch curling, I don't any personally, but I'm sure they do exist.
To: Utah Girl
I didn't know I was going to be this furious, now the only thing I will watch is the hockey because I can tune into the events I want to see during the evening for 10 minutes and then watch FOX News (becuase I know the results)

I'm writing to NBC right now, for all the good it will do. I know I might get back a letter, and it will say something along the lines of how difficult it is to televise something to make everyone happy, blah, blah, blah. They are just noodle noses.

They are just noodle noses. careful girl someone will think youre from Utah or something...
To: oldvike
Americans would rather watch them sweep up the pits at a NASCAR event than watch the Olympics.

To: umbra
greece will show it live and report it live as it happens!
the sad part is i think nbc paid billions to broadcast the olympics in greece!
the good news is the greek media will be on top of things with no delays!

remember, nascar is not a test of man and machine, it's just a show!
it is no-where near the level of formula-1 and cart racing and not even close to the paris-dakar rally or the baja 1,000!
