I can't be completely down on Riordan. He owned my favorite restaurant of all time---The Pantry Cafe. He could have sold it for buku bucks but kept it because it is an L.A. Landmark. They serve enormous portions there for reasonable rates. Their breakfasts are awesome. Their hamsteak and eggs are really terrific. The Pantry Cafe is open 24/7 and has been an L.A. Landmark at 9th and Figueroa for over 70 years. Any L.A. Freepers out there probably know about the Pantry.

Yeah, but this guy's a Dem in GOP clothing. He did great as mayor of L.A., but right now, we gotta go with Simon there.
Besides, Rudy likes Bill Simon a lot. Hopefully, he can talk Simon into going on Howard's show.

CA is a Liberal state...... those Ronnie days are long gone........wake up and smell the coffee....... Ca has 32 RATS vs 20 Rats in the congress and 2 liberal senators...
Only a RINO can win a state wide race, like RINOS in EAST Do, e.g MAss, NY, NY, RI, CT.
Bret lost in a Liberal state...... even if Simon wins in CA primary , he will be lose to Davis in a land slide.

Tell you what... you vote for Simon and breakfast at the Pantry is on me(if you insist because I have had better breakfasts and I didn't have to leave my house)it is actually better at 3am with the cops, prostitutes, pimps and night clubbers eating...a lot of atmosphere and the most grease for your money...but it was no sacrifice for Riordan...he has more bank than the Pope!

Simon ... appreciates ... Republicans of every stripe Isn't diversity politics so transparent. Illegals for Simon anyone?
But to his credit Simon has not voiced any support for the Reconquista former House speaker Villaraigosa as Riordon has done.

This is breaking news?
no mention of- PJB, photos, cheese, moose, logged on, Mormons, Catholics, Libertarians...
What you have here is a total failure. In the future, please let the moderators be informed before you 'break wind' in 'Breaking News'.
Have Simon post an e-mail from the Pope ordering him to pass the Olympic torch to Marie Osmond while eating yellow cheddar with a moose praticing the non-agression principle taught to his mother by Patrick Buchanan-- then you will have Breaking News!

Only a RINO can win a state wide raceI'll be sure to mention that to Gov. Lungren and Sen. Fong the next time I see them.

As a long term Californian, I have watched liberalism steadily destroy this state. Our roads, schools, quality of life --> you name it, it has gone steadily down hill over the last 20 years of Democratic domination of the legislature
Because of this, I have made a simple decision: I will never again vote for a liberal, regardless of party affiliation. In the primary, I will happily vote for Simon. If Riordan wins the primary, I will not vote for a gubernatorial candidate.
That may mean Red Davis will win again. But if liberal policies are going to sink the state, I'd rather Democrats get the blame.
Eventually, the Republican party will either dissolve, and be replaced by a truly Conservative party, or will begin nominating conservatives. Either outcome is acceptable to me. This is one conservative who refuses to ever again vote for the lesser of two evils.
To: kellynla
If Slick Dick is the nominee, then you're gonna be homeless. Californians will not vote for a faux Democrat over the real thing.
