"The Dems want you to be on unemployment and not have a job". True, let's see the spin machines on this.
To: Arkinsaw
Simple solution. Attach a tax-cut rider to the bill by amendment.

Millions for defense,
But not a cent in tribute!
To: snakebitevoter
Make that BILLIONS.
To: Arkinsaw
We'll have to see. Dasshole is no Bill Clinton.
To: ZOOKER
What would stop a brave Republican from attaching every tax cut from the stimulus bill into Daschle's unemployment bill? Nothing. As the Senate usually works, that would be the next step. Bring up the stimulus package as an amendment to every bill that Daschle brings to the floor until the Dems give up and allow a vote. That's how they played us when we had the majority. We'll see if Lott has the starch to do the same. (Not holding my breath.)

The Democrap House and Senate leaders = THE AXIS OF EVIL

Yeah, unemployment takes away from what they will "get" from social security some day. Everything is based on an average now-a-days. It's big "D's" way of solving everything!

LOL! Don't panic. I am sure that President Bush knew Daschle would do this when he said several weeks ago that they should pass just those parts that Daschle liked. This is not a big surprise.
Always remember, the President is about 3 steps ahead of them at all times. Confidence, Dog, confidence!

It would be nice if certain Senators would start collecting unemployment compensation. I wouldn't even care if it was for life!

The Dems have truly lost it...
Lets hope the American people are truly behind the Prez. and his party, remembers this horse exhaust come November, sees through this and sends the Dems (And the media) a brutal message come election day.
As Peter Jennings would say... "The American people have pitched a hissy!"

Simple solution. Attach a tax-cut rider to the bill by amendment.
That still gives them what they want. They can then vote their own bill down and blame it on a Republican "poison pill". Besides, Repub Senators don't have the guts to do it. So this will be up to the House to figure out a way to deal with it.

Always remember, the President is about 3 steps ahead of them at all times. Bush's opponents are ussually in checkmate before they sit down to play the game.

As I said, I'm not holding my breath. Realistically, however, the Senate pubbies will probably follow orders from the White House.

Step back and look at the big picture. This is how I *want* Congress to act. How many times has the American public been screwed by tiny little provisions in omnibus spending bills? If they start passing bills one at a time, it will effectively give President Bush line-item veto power. I'm sick of tax-cuts being packaged with additional spending. Both items should stand or fall on their own merits, and not give either side cover for voting for or against things contrary to the will of the people.

What is it with you South Dakotans??? Get this guy out for you sake & the nation. (I remember "the miget" & "Mr. Pom-Pom" talking about how they were monitering companies who supported the opposition to the other Senator, Tim Johnson, up for re-election. The meaning that Dasshole would make sure NO favors were gonna be given to anyone who supported that opposition). So you know, "Mr.Pom-Pom" & his shaddy dealings that have him COMPLETELY compromised won't allow a true competitive race take place. It is called "The Two-party Cartel". A pox on all of them.
