Just my opinion......

TOPICS: Editorial; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS:
It seems every time I see him up against McAuliffe, he is too soft spoken and mellow to stand up for us......we need someone to hammer away at the hypocrisy at Enron, Global Crossing, Taxes......etc......not enough Republicans have the nads to speak up on these talk shows and make some decent points, although Rep. Tauzin had some punch today.

Fred Barnes made an interesting point today. He said that the democrats are misreading the mood of the American people, who LIKED how the country pulled together after 9/11. They are NOT in the mood for smash-mouth politics and negative ads.

So I think Racicot is exactly right. He refutes McAuliffe but in a mild-mannered way, making Terry look like the thug he is. This will be a good thing in the long run.

Racicot is also quicker on the response time than others....look at how that ad for Elixabeth Dole was refuted right away...and in a much more positive format.

Racicot is an excellent choice.

No, he isn't the right guy for conservatives, or what used to pass for conservatives. But he is perfect for Bush.

Marc Racicot is a good choice. I'm tired of listening to the screaming faces of the past year. He was excellent during the recount, and IMHO is a breath of fresh air.

Racicot should voluntarily give up the income he receives as a lobbyist. I'm not saying he should divest himself of all outside income while holding the job, since I don't believe that has ever been the standard, but by collecting outright lobbying fees from companies with issues before the federal government he leaves himself and the Republican Party open to charges of, at worst, corruption and, at best, unfair favoritism towards his employers.

We all moaned and groused when Jack Quinn used his influence with Clinton to secure favors for his clients, and that happened after Quinn left the WH. If Racicot, who as head of the RNC will rub shoulders constantly with powerful policymakers, including the President, secures favors for his clients, how can we moan and grouse any less?

Absent a real argument I guess calling me "unappeasable" makes you feel more right. I'm happy for you that you like Racicot. Since I believe I'm still entitled to my opinion, I do not. I don't doubt he was great in Florida. I don't doubt that Bush likes him. I love Bush but I will not support his party if it becomes pro gay marriage/gay adoption children/teach homosexuality in schools etc... Raciot holds all of these views.

You do not know how appeasable or unappeasable I am but I bet you have lines you won't cross on certain issues too. Why have 2 parties if conformity is pushed on all.

You are welcome to allow fear of name calling force you into a corner. I am very comfortable with my views.
