I watched......he made some very lame jokes that made no sense......he seems to have been reincarnated into someone with an IQ of 50.

He kept wandering around the stage and making hand gestures that had no relevance to his comments.

Soon he began blaming the economy downturn on the President. When he criticized the tax cut there was absolute silence from the audience. He just appeared to be on some substance. If there's a re run on CSPIN....do take a look.

I am watching Gore's speech right now--it's almost over. It's a whole lot of wind, but let me give you some snippets:

Al Gore Speaks:

"If you are concerned that the present administration might go too far, and as far as I'm concerned they already have [blast of audience applause], elect Democrats in 2002 to hold them in check and balance. [applause]

"That is why today I am forming Leadership 02 to elect Democrats and train them in the skills of democracy.

"My friends, let me give you just one example of why this is so important. Last time I checked we had some serious economic problems in our home state of Tennessee. We need to elect a Democrat to the Governor of Tennessee.

"Let's win this November, and thank you."

(I may have missed a sentence or two, but that was the last part of his speech.)

After the speech, Gore stands at the foot of the stage and shakes hands while rock music plays in the background. He's so phony, so stiff, so completely out of his element, so, so, feminine, it's pitiful. Tipper is gladhanding some of the audience members, too. She's not her typical loose self. Frankly, they both seemed like they were just going through the paces.

Thank goodness it's over.

I watched for maybe 90 seconds and in that 90 seconds he said, "In the last year,4 trillion dollars of the surplus has disappeared" and knowing what I know about myself,I had to turn the channel immediately!

The stump is reinventing himself again. Where are his pit stained shirts? I guess when Slick left the WH, Gore doesn't have access to the liquor closet in the Oral Office.

Then again, Al's inventing a hypersonic fuel-propulsion system for NASA and is keeping his cool.

My wife mentioned that if he's only rasing $25/plate for his speeches, he should do ads for the "whisker" trim market. Remington, Norelco, Gillette, and Slick.. oops, Schick razors.
