POLL: Pro-Life OR Pro-Abortion
FreedomFriend | 02/02/02 | FreedomFriend

Posted on 02/02/2002 10:51:56 AM PST by FreedomFriend

This is a simple question in which I want to gain insight. At least in terms of the opinions of the FreeRepublic population.

I'll tabulate the responses.

So what are you? Pro-Life or Pro-Abortion.

hahahaha good point! It's like that population control gang--they want the right to death and want handicapped people and elderly offered up to die, but they don't step up and offer themselves to reduce the population! (I'm not too articulate here as the game is about to start and hungry friends are banging at my door)..............

I wholeheartedly believe it is the choice of the woman.

Why?

Certainly the baby would choose to live, as far as one of the two other immediately interested parties.

As to the other immediately interested party, do you support enforcement of child-support obligations, which are based upon paternity tests for DNA imparted by the father at conception?????

I believe in the right to choose....however if she should choose to spread her legs without protection the first time than she shouldn't get a SECOND chance to change her mind if she doesn't like the result of her first mistake......

Pro-life.

P.S. Let the flaming begin...but know this about first.....I AM A WOMAN.

So you would support someone who is choosing to kill another human being. Interesting.

I was at one time vehemently pro-abortion. I argued the benefits, the positives, all the reasons why a woman should be able to have an abortion on demand, no matter what the reason.

Then they handed me my daughter, blue, squalling, and wet, and things began to change.

I was still pro-abortion, but I was beginning to waver. I didn't argue like I used to, didn't get into shouting matches, didn't get into online flame wars on the local BBS's. I just didn't know anymore.

Following my separation from my now ex-wife, I was saved. I began to understand how wrong I was to argue in favor of abortion, how wrong I was to believe that it was ok, that it was just a bit of tissue, a temporary thing, and I realized just how damned wrong I was in paying for my ex-wife's abortion before we were married. Someday, I'll meet the child we never had, and I hope and I pray that he or she will forgive me for what I did.

As for me, I am pro-life.

Yes, but the baby doesn't have a choice, does it?

Indeed. It's impossible to be "pro-choice" when you're holding, a "choice" in your arms, and the "choice" is looking up at you with love and trust, and you know at that moment that there is indeed a God.

As for me, I am pro-life.

Good deal. Real men are tough enough to fight tooth-and-nail for the most innocent amongst us.

Since Bill Clinton's mama didn't exercise her right to "choose"... I can't think of a good reason for it.

Count me as PRO - LIFE.

I agree with much of what you say. However, you have implied that there is a point in pregnancy where you too would support mandating that the child be protected. Some of us simply believe that that point should be much earlier in pregnancy.

I find it very encouraging that you support education as a way of preventing abortion. We've had a few threads recently, here on Freep, that have discussed the miraculous power of ultrasound in deterring women from aborting. Perhaps you'd be interested in this thread, which I posted a few days ago.

Was your cousin the clerk in the hotel?

Yes, it was Doug. I've got family going to Huntsville for it. I think I might just write something on FR about it whether I get to go or not. Doug was a Gulf War vet and had just started at DeVry when it happened. He was a great guy and has been truly missed.

Pro-Abortion.

Anti-Government Meddling in People's Lives.

Anti-Religious Tyranny.

Pro-Pro Lifers Adopting the Millions of Kids who are Already Here and Don't Have Homes Before They Give Any More "Have That Baby You Don't Want and Put it Up for Adoption" Lectures. Sounds to me like a front for the greedy adoption industry that wants a steady supply of easy-to-adopt-for-a-hefty-fee cute little healthy newborns, but doesn't give a hoot about those annoying hard-to-place kids.
