Vanity Post on Vanity Posts, Duplicate Posts, Trash Posts, Commie Propaganda, etc., Vol V, No. 1

Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.

I think most FReepers can distinguish the wheat from the chaff.

IF the topics are to be strictly politics, then one would have to have a holding area where posters would be in limbo til they get processed. Sort of "mother may I?" FR would need a higher degree of human intervention as well as additional 'intelligent' software perhaps to do what the Admin Moderators are asking. There will be a resultant loss of spontaneity, contributions, and exchanges.

Given the increasing number of people signing up, it's a surprise that there are not more duplicate posts, etc. To that extent, most 'older' FReepers contribute to the Admin Moderators requests by repeatedly throttling, err, advising newbies of the errors in their ways. Unfortunately, space does not permit me to list their names, but thanks to all, you know who you are...:)

Finally, I've only posted since October - but I can't say when I have had as much interaction/insight/thought and fun for my first 100 dollar contribution. I regret not jumping in earlier. If I didn't have to go work from time to time, I'd be on it more....

If any guidance was ever posted on the wasted bandwith taken up by vanity confederate apologist threads, I never saw any; or maybe they are thought to be within the theme of the site.

To me they seem a very great waste of bandwidth, except they give others a chance to put the lie -to- CSA apologia........hmmmmmmm.......

Ahhhh. THANK YOU, Jim Rob, for saying what I have been THINKING all along. At least the "destroy Jeb Bush crowd" (a.k.a. RINO freepers for Janet Reno) and some of their ilk have started to lay low for a while. Don't these self-proclaimed "conservatives" have anything better to do than post vanities and innuendo trashing someone who AGREES with them 90% of the time? I personally think most of the Jesse Helms/Bob Barr/Henry Hyde/etc. haters are RINOs anyway. Why else would they want to have these people thrown out of office and replaced with socialist DemocRATs? AS IF the 'rats would be an improvement. ;-)

Well...I just don't get it. I understand about vanity, commie propaganda and duplicate posts but "trash" posts. Comeon, admin mod, FR needs a sense of humor like it once had, because some of these are belly-laugh hilarious. I recall the early days when FReepers brought ha-ha tears to my eyes with comments and vanities about Slick Willie; and somehow could cheer my spirits during the unbearable regime of the Clintons. My post this a.m. of Janet Reno on the floor with mountineer's caption "Cleanup wanted on Aisle Four" was in that venue--I still can't understand why you pulled it, except bending to the howls of the Politically Correct crowd (most of them liberal lurkers).
