[history]
ANN ARBOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Domino's Pizza founder Tom Monaghan wants to build a 250-foot-high freestanding crucifix at his Domino's Farms office park in this Washtenaw County community.
The 25-story structure, topped by a 40-foot figure of Christ, would be about as tall as the Statue of Liberty, and 51 feet shorter than the tip of its torch.

I agree nonetheless I support his right to do what he wishes with his money on his property.

Domino's pizza is terrible and waaaaaaaay over priced. However, if that crucifix aggravates the PC Warriors there, I may have to buy one, too.

Monahan's mistake is letting people know what he's up to. He should just build it. He has the money and the access to enough legal talent to keep the naysayers gnashing their teeth for decades.

"It's outrageous!" said Patricia Blom, whose lives about a half-mile from Domino's Farms. "I'm a Methodist, but this will offend people in this multireligious area."Gee, what a surprise, a modern Methodist.
It reminds me of a line from a movie I saw, can't remember exactly, but went like this, "We're not very religous, we're Methodists".

My mom loves ham and pineapple on her pizza. I go for bacon and tomatoes myself. Great, now I'm starving.

I may have to buy one, too
Not so fast! According to the article Monaghan sold most of his stake in Domino's in 1998 (choosing instead to focus "his energy and much of his fortune on advancing conservative Roman Catholic causes.")
