>> on their backs, legs spread, knees up, chanting, and practicing "giving birth" to Iris.<<
ISIS, not Iris.
You really do have to keep up better with your false gods...

I see. So, Wade is one of those who has "advanced degrees" in
nothing and got 'em because he's black. I'll wager he has the I.Q. of an asparagus and is incapable of carrying on an intelligent conversation.
Creatures like him make me physically ill.

Surely these Girl Power programs aren't teaching girls to shoot and hunt. I can't imagine them even suggesting it.

I'm grumpy too. I should know better than to read anything pertaining to the issue of feminism 30 minutes after getting up, when 5 little girls kept me up all night.
Her books sound interesting. I think I'll hit Amazon later.
And I believe with all my heart that feminist HAVE betrayed women.

Ladies and Gentlemen, why do we spend our life savings sending our children to universities in America where our beloved children are taught hogwash by these communists?
To: kcvl
Professor Jay Wade, of Fordham University's Department of Psychology an expert on "listening skills" ordered Sommers to "shut the f*ck up, bitch," to the laughter of the others in attendance. There is nothing liberal about 'liberals'.

Dear Doctor Raoul:
How, in your esteemed opinion, can we help this brave woman?
To: kcvl
That pretty much explains it.

Sommers earned her B.A. at New York University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1971. She received her Ph.D. in Philosophy at Brandeis University in 1979.This should be interesting. Wonder if she has to answer questions with half her brain tied behind her. I am assuming that she is arguing the positive. As I recall Dr. Sowell also has a problem with womyns studies as well as "other" studies.
Expect an after action report and ping.

"...We also had a "African" Frat that chained themselves together by the neck around campus as "slaves" and branded each other..." With real branding irons? I can see it now...
"Take that you honkey sumbitch!"

Did a Google search on Wade (Dr. Expert on Listening Skills) and ended up on Fordham's Univeristy Directory site. I find it interesting that the vast majority of the staff have their e-mail addresses listed, either as a fordham.edu account or their own ISP. Wade's was listed as "none". My guess is that he has a selective listening philosophy.

Who is Iris? And why was she being abused in this way?

If it was the same frat that was at My college(and I strongly suspect it was) ours had all the pledges wearing matching uniforms with combat boots painted in the frat's colors. They would march together everywhere on campus, and until they were accepted in the frat , the pledges could only speak to their frat members , and only when spoken to. Reward for making it in was the recognition of your frat brothers, and you were branded with the frats greek letters. Although our university had strict anti hazing policies, the administration flat out refused to even question this frats practices. I'll freepmail you and see if it was the same frat, don't wanna mention it here!

First time posting....
I really enjoyed reading "Who Stole Feminism" (I even have a copy signed by Dr Sommers herself!), but I was disappointed by "The War Against Boys." Dr Sommers exhibits a certain glee in slashing the "pseudo-science" of some feminist claims (that women's shelters report a 40% rise in crisis calls on Super Bowl weekend, for instance)but by the end of "The War Against Boys," the text has shifted into a policy paper from AEI that doesn't target "The War" anymore. It just didn't fit with what I thought the thesis of the book was.
I would bet the mortgage that Dr Sommers will more than hold her own in the debate. Not sure if the crowd would agree with me though. New Haven audiences can be tough.
For some really "it would be funny if it weren't so sad" reporting on "women's studies" check out "Professing Feminism" by Daphne Patai and Noretta Koertge.
