If it was the same frat that was at My college(and I strongly suspect it was) ours had all the pledges wearing matching uniforms with combat boots painted in the frat's colors. They would march together everywhere on campus, and until they were accepted in the frat , the pledges could only speak to their frat members , and only when spoken to. Reward for making it in was the recognition of your frat brothers, and you were branded with the frats greek letters. Although our university had strict anti hazing policies, the administration flat out refused to even question this frats practices. I'll freepmail you and see if it was the same frat, don't wanna mention it here!

Was it Omega Psi Phi? We have those guys in Houston too.

Well, at UNC it was called Omega Psi Phi.
What is the reticence, particularly on Free Republic, of stating the truth?
