Is there any way to determine WHEN the money was given?

Money given early in a campaign, especially for an adequately funded campaign, is not as important as money given during crunch times in a campaign or at the end of a campaign.

Democratic donors tee-up with Gov. Davis

August 13, 2000 LOS ANGELES — Scores of big-giving Democrats teed it up with California Gov. Gray Davis on Sunday at Riviera Country Club to raise an estimated $400,000 to help Al Gore win the presidency.

Kicking off the Democratic National Convention week as the host governor, Davis led a round of fundraising at one of Southern California’s premier private golf clubs.

Eager donors chipped in $15,000 each apiece for the chance to have a foursome of golfers in what Democrats called "The Governor’s Cup at the Democratic National Convention."

In addition, the main sponsor, Andersen Consulting, contributed $100,000 in return for 'branding rights' to the event and the chance to have two of its top executives play in the same group with the California governor.

The event was just one of just scores of parties, outings and other events going on outside the Staples Center during the week of the Democratic convention in Los Angeles. Some of the events are aimed at raising money to further the campaign effort. Many others are aimed at rewarding and stroking reliable big donors to the Democratic Party.

Davis, for instance, also hosted a fundraiser for Gov. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire and a Saturday night gala benefiting first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. Tonight, he is hosting a welcoming party at Paramount Pictures’ back lot; President Clinton and about 10,000 other guests are expected. That event is expected to cost $1.4 million, paid for by list of sponsors led by $250,000 from SBC Communications.

Money from Davis’ golf outing goes to the California state Democratic Party and thus is not subject to any federal reporting requirements or other limitations. The state party plans to use the money as part of its coordinated campaign effort to elect Gore.

The Dems. hide their donations and point the fingers at Republicans. Hypocrites.

Any big business that donates more to the tax and spend, anti-business, pro-regulation and extortion Dems. is simply paying off the neighborhood bully. Why wouldn't business donate more to Republicans? Just like Unions and dependents will donate more of other people's money to the Democrats. Common sense.

The list you posted (thanks) does not include contributions to losing candidates. If it had included them, I believe John Ashcroft would have been at the top of the list. I understand he received around $25,000 from Enron for the 2000 election.

Enron has(had) over 3,500 subsidiaries, partnerships, and affiliated companies, with more showing up everyday. While Enron Corp. gave more to Republicans, the subs are pure RAT. That's why the RAT's need to take the point in the investigation, to control(cover up) that information. They will fail, as it's starting to leak out nine ways to Sunday.
