KRISTOL GOT $100,000 FROM ENRON: Bill Kristol emails to clarify that he was on the Enron advisory board for two years “I believe,” for what would be a total of $100,000. That makes Kristol the biggest Enron pundit beneficiary so far. And the sum wasn’t disclosed until today, so far as I know. The web spreads. Who else was on the board? Did any pundits get more than Kristol? Stay tuned ... - 6:20:06 PM

Krugman did it for the chilrun, the down trodden blacks and the gays and of course for the poor people!

Did he and Krystol turn this easy money amounts to the IRS on their taxes that year?

I do believe the snarling possum just made himself irrelevent. I wonder if anyone at Fox will be asking him about this. I assume that Hume or O'Riledup would.

That does it! I've had it!

I'm going to start a class action for everybody who didn't get any money from Enron. I'm going to name Enron and everyone who did get money from them as defendants.

I want mine!

Now would someone point me to a blood-sucking lawyer...

You posted, "-- U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on how the Enron scandal highlights the need for campaign finance reform. McCain acknowledged getting $9,500 in Enron contributions in two Senate campaigns."

This is probably really chafing McAinal's clymer. McKristol got $100,000 in two years to serve on the phoney advisory board! McAinal only got $9500! McAinal will probably asked for a finders fee of 50%!

Thanks for posting this!

Uh, i don't get it. Why *Demrongate*? Am I missing something here? Did Bill Kristol (Dan Quayle's former chief of staff) become a Democrat at some point when I wasn't paying attention?

Kristol will be labeled a "conservative Republican" at every opportunity, so I'm not laughing or drooling at all about this.

Well, Kristol is my nemesis, and I don't wish to bore you with the details, but I do not consider him a Republican or a conservative. If you want details, send me a freepmail.

Yes, he was Dan Quayle's Chief of Staff. Dan Quayle in his book says that James Baker wouldn't let Kristol sit in on campaiign meetings. Baker said it was because Kristol leaked everything to the press. Quayle (fed this bilge no doubt by Kristol) says that it is because Baker was intimidated by Kristol's intellect and leadership.

I am not making that up. It is in black and white right here in my house, because I own the book. Now, do you really think that Baker was intimidated by Bill Kristol, who was even more of a punk 10 years ago? And do you think that the person who stood eyeball to eyeball with Saddam Hussein and led the Florida Recount Battle would be intimidated by that possum person? Har!

And, my point is this: Kristol is always hung around our necks as a conservative (but who conveniently bashes the administration or pushes for destructive policies at every turn). I would prefer that he be discredited as a commentator, and we get someone on those shows who supports the administration at least 60% of the time.

no offense . . . but i think you're nuts.

to most people, this is still a republican scandal, and like it or not, kristol only makes it more of one. another conservative fat cat feeding at the trough. it's not good news.

Kristol showed exceedingly poor judgment, not to mention greed, in taking that money from Enron, collapse or no collapse---it makes it look like he's "bought and paid for."

As I said before, I believe most of the pundits will be conservative, since few business writers are liberal (Krugman being the exception). The point is not that Kristol did anything wrong by being on the board.

The point is that he has been pushing McCain and that CFR bill for a long time, and this is blatant double standard. Same with Krugman, who has been accusing the administration of impropriety for accepting campaign donations, all the while himself pocketing a nice fat check.

Our lives will be complete if it turns out that Maureen Dowd, Gene Lyons, Joe Conason, or Helen Thomas sat on that board as well. Ha!

I doubt it, though. But one may dream.

People are going to be running away from Kristol.

I hope so.

The abandonment of the neo-con-snarkist (if it feels good bomb it it) Kristol school of the GOP would be a very healthy thing.

You see, It works like this!!!! If my thoughts on how a business is run or how I could help a company improve it's public image and Enron would like my advice along with a few other brilliant minds, Ken Lay hires me as a consultant and I sit on some hokey advisory board and collect whatever fee I'm worth to him. But there is absolutely nothing illegal about that. When NIKE wants to promote NIKE products, they have Tiger Woods represent them, NIKE wouldn't hire Woody Allen would they?. Enron hired Kristol for the same way NIKE hired Tiger Woods. What it comes down to is CAPITALISM.

Democrats do not understand Capitalism, they understand and identify with Socialism. What the RATS are doing is attacking capitalism, but unfortunately most people can't see this.

Dear Billy Kristol, My favorite uncle, Mr. Ponzi, has some tulip bulbs that he would like to sell. How much $$$ will it cost for you to write a favorable article about tulips and their investment value. Yours truly, Ima Dupe Widows and Orphans Relief Society
