- no one in Congress, no one in the state of Utah, not even the governor was aware of Clinton’s scheme.

From a thread last year, apparently Klintoon's Hollywood crowd, especially Robert Redford, was aware of this happening and had a gala celebration. The governor of Utah was not aware. This seems to be yet another indication of Hollywood's strong ties to a communist world order, i.e., Klintoon, Lippo, etcetera.

But .....

The Teapot Dome Scandal (as a political scheme as originally named!) WAS re-created by the Clinton-Gore White House.

The OIL from the US war reserves at Teapot Dome itself WAS extracted BY the Clinton White House and sent in LARGE quantities to upstate New York voters as a deliberate vote-buying scheme for Hillary's Senate campaign!

Further, the OIL itself was sold to a New York "oil business" fronted in an apartment house that was run by Hilllary's contributors. The profits from this reselling went directly to these "contributors."

Also benefitting (as I recall) were MA and PA residents, also democratic voters.

Did Jeffords' voters get US oil as well?

OK, I'm glad that people are trying to keep the light focused on this scandal(and it is a scandal). But it doesn't help the cause to use misinformation. This may be the largest deposit of low-sulfer coal, and Indonesia may be on top of the second, but there is plenty more here in the US. The Powder River basin is huge, currently being mined, and is nowhere close to running out. More is in Colorado.

Second, the argument is inconsistent. If Bubba wanted to help his Indonesian/Chicom friends by reducing competing supplies of coal, why would he then turn around and reduce the market for its use by converting all coal plants to natural gas? The obvious answer is that these were disconnected moves and Jughead was simply taking dollars for favors from anyone, not part of a single grand plan. Corrupt, should be outed, but portraying it as a large grand conspiracy when that can easily be refuted allows the RATS to portray as illegitimate investigations into the real crimes.

No matter how many real favors for donations Clinton handed out the major media just ignored it or said "well, everybody does it, and the Republicans...blah blah blah..." There is absolutely no proof whatsoever, not even a hint of it, that Bush gave anything for money yet the media has convicted him anyway. JERKS!

Clinton went to a fundraiser practically every other day when he was in office and not a peep from the media about this "access for money". Cheney holds one funraiser for $100,000 donors and it's "access for money" accusations all over the RAT media outlets.

Yep! When Al Gore released the oil reserves, depleting what was suppose to be saved for national defence. As if any of them cared about that! I.E., 9/11!

The odd part? These guys had no experiance in the oil business, nor no way to refine it! It still had to be hired out, costing the tax payers twice as much! These two guys lived in a New York apartment , and one guy still lived WITH HIS MOTHER, but sometimes stayed "at the apartment." Neither was employed at the time!

Chi-coms can't vote. Environmentalists can.

The explanation is global markets for coal, while helping the ENRON company get more U.S. markets for natural gas.

The two deals (Clinton helping Riady, and Clinton helping ENRON) might not be a combined master plan, coordinated together .... but each plan, while "standing alone" as a means of screwing the U.S. citizens for campaign contributions .... can actually "dovetail" nicely together, where one doesn't really hurt the other.

Grand Staircase-Escalante was a major case of abuse of power and corruption. The media simply gave Clinton a pass on it.

It would be a beautiful irony if, while probing Ken Lay, Democratic committee staffers come up with something damning about the Escalante deal. Or better yet, suppose Lieberman gets Lay in his sights, and just as he's about to blow his head off, good ol' Ken says something like, "Well, Senator, if you feel compelled to ask me about so-and-so, which you say is a crime, I'll just have to tell the committee in public hearings about all of my less than laudable activities, including the deal I made with Bill Clinton and your running mate in the 2000 Presidential race, Al Gore, to get that coal mine shut down in Utah."

Ah...how sweet that would be.

In 1996, Clinton decreed by executive order, that 1.7 billion acres identified as the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah, was being annexed by the federal government. No prior arrangement had been made by Clinton with anyone, as far as we know - no one in Congress, no one in the state of Utah, not even the governor was aware of Clinton’s scheme. Eventually, through the underhanded and political slight of hand maneuver of unanimous consent, a bill was transformed into law legitimizing Clinton’s land grab.
The Escalante property in Utah holds the largest deposit of clean-burning low sulfur producing coal in the entire world. The second only known large deposit, is on Kalamantan Island in Indonesia, and is owned by the Communist Chinese military in partnership with Mochtar and James Riady’s Lippo Group

Oh a good one!

Raises the price of natural gas for California gas fired electric plants too!!

I wonder if Davis knew this and was raising hell because he wasn't included in the payoff?

While I believe in the laws of supply and demand, the natural gas price spike was do to a number of factors. Some included the tragic natural gas explosion in New Mexico near a bridge that killed a family, and increased demand for natural gas from power plants to meet PNW power needs during a drought and reduced hydro generation. Then there was panic buying.

The price spike collapsed when panic buying stopped, the gas pipeline from Texas/New Mexico to California was fixed, and when exploration in Canadian gas fields went exponential!

I think that the impact of Utah Coal on natural gas prices is very, very, very, small.

Actually all three of the know nothing about oil guys who made money on this deal or tried to make money were the same ethnic back ground as Je$$e and were big friends/contributors to Je$$e! The one in NY and the one in Floriduh operated their new businesses from their homes if I'm not mistaken. The Colorado Friend of Je$$e was well off and a big spender for the Colorado Demonicrats.

All three of these guys knew about the same as I know about oil. It comes from the ground and we need it for our cars!

Of course the stories of these 3 Je$$e's in oil were spiked by the major fish wraps and the tv nets. I wasn't a Freeper at that time, so I have no idea about the Freeper coverage of these oily friends of Je$$e!

IF GW tried to do the same for one of his friends, we would never hear the end of it! Clintoon, Goron, and Je$$e get by with this incredible fleecing until a few brave people forced a stop to this government okayed theft!

From today's WSJ Interactive (Sorry, this link works only for subscribers):
The SEC is reviewing a 1993 staff ruling to absolve the Enron units from registering under the Public Utility Holding Company Act, a 1935 law that gives the agency extensive supervision of corporate structure and business operations of registered utility holding companies, according to people with knowledge of the matter. If the decision is found to have been erroneous, it could change the way other utility holding companies are regulated.

Two Enron entities received waivers from the public utility holding company rules. In one case, Enron's Portland General Electric Co. unit in Oregon clearly qualified for an exemption that applies to holding companies that own and operate a utility in a single state. But in late 1993, Enron Power Marketing Inc., Enron's wholesale power-selling unit, successfully argued that it too shouldn't be regulated by the SEC.

Anyone know who clinton appointed to head the SEC back then?

no doubt the liberal media is attempting to pawn off the enron scandal onto bush.

democrat supporters were very happy with the escalante presidential decision.

i was thru' there several years ago; it is a very beautiful site, in fact, breath-taking.
