Did your dad know Mr. Bradley? Another Iwo Jima medic who raised the flag. He soon will be replaced by a member of an oppressed group on all of the memorials.

I'm reasonably sure he never met John Bradley - they weren't separated in civilian life by all that many miles, but Dad never mentioned his name that I can recall (although he may have and I was just too young to have understood the significance).

I sure hope they don't make the image of John Bradley a woman on the IJM. He was kind of cute when he was a young sailor, but I don't think he would look so good with makeup on. Call me closed-minded.
