It's Now 20 Years In Slammeramma For Sara Jane Olson
Posted on 01/18/2002 10:56:44 AM PST by MindBender26
LOS ANGELES (AP) Former Symbionese Liberation Army fugitive Sara Jane Olson was sentenced today to 20 years to life in prison for conspiring to blow up police cars in 1975.
Following tearful statements from family and friends, Olson said she was "truly sorry" for causing anyone any pain. But she denied trying to murder officers by planting bombs under the two Los Angeles police cars to avenge the deaths of six SLA members during a shootout with authorities in 1974. The bombs didn't explode.
Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler sentenced Olson to two consecutive terms of 10 years to life.

PRISON GUARD: Hi Sara Jane. Have a seat.
SARAH: OK Thank You.
PRISON GUARD: Try this, 1 thousand 1, 1 thousand 2, one thousand 3....
SARAH: Huh!?
PRISON GUARD: Just do that 64,123,200 times. The you can leave. Unless they get you on the murder charge. Then you can just count until you die.

I should be sentenced to five and one-quarter years. I should serve a little over half of that. Clueless to the end. I just can't stop laughing over this!
Surprise, Kathleen. Actions have consequenses.

Re: the cookbook.
LOL!
Until I realized that you didn't photoshop the image--it's for real! still funny--I'm just laughing in a different way now.
BTW, my post above mentions "Cornfed." He's the adopted jailbird son of the Lawyers in San Francisco whose dogs, or rather Cornfed's dogs, killed the lady neighbor. Their trial is coming up too.

Question(s): Does this mean she won't qualify for early parole? And if she does, how long a sentence do you think she will really serve?
To: biggerten
She -may- serve only 2.5 years, she may serve more. They keep pretty quiet about that. And that's the dirty little secret of the World's Greatest Criminal Justice System. Fool the public with 20 to life headlines at sentencing and then quietly slap the wrist. Boy, I hope you and I are wrong on this one!

Looks like a feminist power sign to me, with the fist and female sign.
Well, while Kathleen has years ahead to ponder what lies to tell next, I am leaving to enjoy my freedom by having some drinks with friends.

"I should be sentenced to five and one-quarter years." Guess again! Heh, heh, heh, heh.
Of course the only point of trying to withdraw her guilty plea was so that she could tell her rubes (i.e., the idiot liberals sending her money) that she was railroaded and denied her right to a trial. Looks like that little trick might have cost her another 15 years.
Enjoy prison.

I think you're a bit harsh. I have friends who knew Patty before she was kidapped (as well as that Weed idiot boyfriend), and she was a nice, vapid, typical upper-class girl, conventional enough, but no real strength of character. That I fault her parents for, but her Dad is a jerk and her mother always had elbow trouble, it's said.
Patty didn't ask to be kidnapped and repeatedly raped, and I can imagine someone as weak as she was being eager to please her captors just to change her circumstances. Unless you've been through something like that, I don't think you've got much right to criticize her.

The sentence will also be 'recalculated' in accordance with sentencing changes that have occurred in the years since her crime. She -may- serve only 2.5 years, she may serve more. They keep pretty quiet about that. Where are you getting your figures? (not saying you're wrong, just wondering). I would think that since she said in her recent bail letter that she would have to serve slightly more than half of what she thought would be an approximately 5-yr sentence, that slightly more than half would still be the case with the longer (suprise!) sentence she actually received. (And just goes to show, don't try to play your judge for a fool.)

WooHoo!!! I was hoping for Life, but I'll take this. Personally, I don't think she should ever see the sun again.

I was disgusted after finding out that she had a defense website.
Typical lib, let someone else pay for my problems.
"It's not my fault,---------- remember?"
What trash she is!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. I meant Sara's right hand, the one at the left in the pic. Carafe? Grenade?
