[history]
On Sunday, peace activists will converge at the Lincoln Memorial at 1 p.m. for a rally. The demonstration is organized by the D.C. Anti-War Network, which said the event is designed to protest civilian casualties of U.S. bombing in Afghanistan and civil liberties violations in the war on terrorism. A march to the White House is planned to follow the rally, and organizers said several dozen protesters plan to be arrested in an as-yet-unspecified act of nonviolent civil disobedience. "Dr. King taught us that sometimes you have to lay your body down for your principles," said Dave Zirin, one of the organizers.

These people don't even deserve to live in America. They should go to Cuba where it's peaceful and everyone is equal.
To: hobblemaster
Guess they're joining up with another America hater, Al Sharpton, who's protesting against John Ashcroft this weekend!

Seig Heil, then!! In your opinion, the only freedom that exists is the freedom to agree with you. I consider mindless conformists like you more of a danger to our liberty and freedom than Al-quieda could ever hope to be. Freedom means having to at least let thier point of view be heard, even if you don't agree with it. Get it straight, Himmler!

Snowbox, How is the call to counter America-haters equal to being a nazi??!! Nobody is saying they don't have a right to demonstrate against America (as ironic as that is) - so don't say Freepers don't have the right to demonstrate in SUPPORT of US efforts. Looks like one-way freedom of speech once again.

Thank you Hobblemaster for alerting the Freepers to this travesty. You can bet that the "Your Ad Here" committee will be out to show these marchers a thing or two.
Keep up the good work.

Count me in.
Just so we know the players and dates. Sharpton is doing his thing on Saturday near the Convention Center and this rally is on the Mall on Sunday. Am I correct in saying we are going to put our efforts towards the Sunday deal? It's probably the most important of the two and would be easier to rally the troops on the Mall v. the Convention Center.
Thoughts?
To: leadpenny
LP - I am with you and will be there on Sunday - just hope the Ravens can win without me watching.
