Authorities will soon begin searching for thousands of Middle Eastern men in the United States who have disappeared after being ordered to leave the country, according to officials familiar with the operation.

The Justice Department has identified about 6,000 young men from the Middle East who have ignored deportation orders, and has decided to make the arrest and removal of them the highest priority among efforts to locate hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals who have defied such rulings, authorities said.

You are wrong. It takes one phone call to the FBI. Lot's of visits in a neighborhood near you these days. One phonecall. Not like the good ole days when law inforcement had nothing to do with the INS. Nope.

You know that insulting convenience store worker down the block that always looks at you funny and pretends that he doesn't speak english. One phone call. I know it seems sort of unamerican .... but it has to be, for now.

I live in the Red zone. No Ay-rabs around here. I don't care much for most of my redneck neighbors but at least I know they love this land and wouldn't sell it down the river for some PC cause. Everybody knows everything about each other and gossip is the fave passtime. But you can't have a flat tire around here without every third car stopping to see if you need any help. A couple of Mexican girls tragicly were killed while riding around in a ATV on a local ranch and the local residents took up a collection to cover funeral expenses as the parents were quite poor. We take care of our own and those who wish to be a part of the community. We watch each other. We watch out for each other. A terr wouldn't have a chance around here.

Bush and his people better get this under control. They can't blame it on Clinton any longer.

Charming

Now the 'conservatives' quote Josef Stalin with a straight face...

sigh...

the justice department seems to be getting their priorities in order

It has taken 4 months of investigation to assemble this list. The president stepped into a huge mess when he took office, but he is working diligently to clean it all up. The morning radio news said 300,000 MEs are being investigated for deportation, but 6,000 are to be deported as soon as caught.

My question is , why the hell were these people here in the first place?

Because of the Immigration Act of 1965 pushed by Ted Kennedy who said at the time:

"I just want to make this point because the argument that the cultural pattern of the U.S. will be changed needs to be answered. Our cultural pattern will never be changed as far as America is concerned."
Kennedy and the Democrat party saw this act as a free way to buy votes. Ted claimed that under 10,000 third world immigrants would arrive on our shores and then the influx would dry up.

I agree-maybe the INS should contact homeowners associations across the US and talk to board members. They notice EVERYTHING, including leaving your trash bin out 1 day too long...seems to me they could help out in locating some of these illegal people.

I can't imagine us allowing German and Japanese nationals running free around this country during WWII. They were interned for the duration.

Either we're serious about preventing terrorist acts in this country or we are not. If we are, we will deport all non-citizen Arab Muslim males older than 15 years old. If they are not here in this county they will have a much harder time hurting us. It is the only way to clean out the "sleepers".

The men hail from nations that U.S. authorities consider havens for members of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda terrorist network, and some have criminal backgrounds, authorities said.

I put into bold the reason why I asked the question. I am not oppossed to immigration, per se.

So why are they still on the lose?

Why weren't they deported earlier?

I am 100% in agreement that GWB was left with this huge mess and, in large part, and incompetent or unfriendly DoJ after being under Reno for so long. My comment was simply saying that, out from under Reno, DoJ seems to be spending its time looking for criminals instead of wasting tax dollars investigating legitimate American business (ie Microsoft). I think that given all the events of this year, I am pleased with this headline and suspect that those in the PC/liberal camp will have many a loud complaint about how 'unfair' this is. We are quietly winning and while I am not ready to celebrate victory, I am more and more hopeful that the complaints many voice about GWB not being conservative enough will prove to be unfounded. I may not think the step is big enough, but, once again, it is in the right direction.

What is really frightning is that Sadam Hussein could put on a New York Yankees cap and enter this nation illegally with little or no effort. I would guess that this 6,000 number is conservative at best.

The fact is that millions of people from all over the world are in our country illegally and we don't have a clue who these people are, where they are, what the hell they are doing, or how many are really here with agendas that lack Americas best interest. It's an absolute immigration "free for all".

My question is , why the hell were these people here in the first place? Why the hell aren't they apprehended and deported the very first time they violate the terms of their visits here?

Why the Hell don't they just mysteriously disappear?
