While there's been no known increase in infants infected with hepatitis B, vaccinating them before they leave the hospital "just makes good sense," Dr. Cooper said.
Makes sense to me, let's inject something else into a week old kid for a non existant problem.

Hi All!
My daughter was born last December. When we told the
hospital staff that we did not want her vaccinated for
Hep B they looked at us like we were from Mars!
My liberal sister who works in a neo-natal intensive
care ward is starting to see a trend occuring with this
vaccination and autism, the primary culprit looks to be
the mercury based preservative.
We had all told, three doctors and countless nurses
us about our decision, it was nuts!

While I had no problem vaccinating both my daughter's against this disease, I have to wonder why they are blaming infection on mothers. I was tested not once but twice during each of my pregnancies. Once in the first trimester and once at 36 weeks. I don't understand why a mother's status should be unknown after 2 tests, unless mothers in other states are turning down the tests. I have no risk factors for this or any other blood born illness at all, but I'm still not opposed to the testing. But why after testing the mothers do we need to give this to our babies? Sexually promiscuous high schoolers, yeah, but newborns?

Oh, puleeze, doctor.....your logic is even worse and non-convincing as the nutritionist who had insisted my husband go to decaffeinated coffee, after some horse-ass study said regular coffee was bad for ya; shortly thereafter, the study was discredited; hubby asked the nutritionist a question about it and she said that while she realizes the study was disproved, she thought it still made good sense. Upon hearing this, hubby told her that when she started footing the bill for her nonsense, he'd continue drinking decaf...he went back to regular coffee.
Doctor here doesn't even have a study that once upon a time suggested an increase in babies getting hepatitis!

Once again, the majority is required to do something that actually only applies to a very small minority. Remember, it's more politically correct to just require EVERYONE to take the shots than it would be to zero in on the high-risk mothers, most of whom are probably drug users.
The old "one size fits all" theory.

The seven recommended vaccines are: ... And you can bet that as the makers of other vaccines get their legislated immunity from liability, the list will grow.
We have a grandson who sustained permanent brain damage from these "just makes sense to do it" practices. If you're a parent, wait until your child either: (a) exhibits a problem (and you don't need to wait for symptoms, you can have tests done.); or (b) is old enough and has shown to be healthy enough to take the vaccines.
We had another grandchild whose mother successfully resisted giving indiscriminate injections to her daughter. When the schools got really threatening, she silenced them by telling them it was against her religion.

too late here, my grandson born 10-26-01 had this shot.....now Im worried!
I asked the Doc before if it was necessary and she said it was NOW normal procedure with newborns...she looked at me as though I was an old worried grandmother who knew nothing about taking care of babies...she even made a snide remark about things being a lot different than 25 years ago!

My children have had the vaccinations and I encourage them. But too each his own.

When our daughter was born 6 years ago, the hospital did not give us any real option on the Hep vac. They had us sign some papers and took her away for an "exam". A happy baby came back to us a sick baby, ran a fever for several days and completely ruined any chance for my wife to breast-feed her. She was so dehydrated from the fever we had to resort to a bottle. When we complained they said this was standard practice and implied that state law (GA) was the reason.

she looked at me as though I was an old worried grandmother who knew nothing about taking care of babies...she even made a snide remark about things being a lot different than 25 years ago!The look-at-you-as-though-(whatever) technique must be taught in Medical schools to deal with people who have questions you don't have a really good answer for.
Mrs. LantzALot tried for years to convince her daughters that indiscriminate injections were not good. and met with that look. When something actually happened to one of ours (see post 9, above,) she was able to get some information from a former talk show host to help get her daughter some compensation. Even though there is a government program established to handle just such goofs, it is still almost impossible to get anything.

Given the prevalancy of Hep B in hospital workers, it would seem that hospital vaccinations for newborns, for whom this disease represents a mortal threat, might be prudent.
I find the level and quality of scientific information put out by the vaccination alarmists slighly below that of the environmentalists. You want to see, firsthand, the results of poor or absent child vaccination programs? Travel around the world a little bit and see the deaf, blind, and retarded young people who had measles as baies, or the cripples who had polio.

,,, all newborns are innoculated with a three in one shot in Australia now, I heard on the radio sometime before Christmas.
This is great timing as there's a microchip that can now be injected too. Call me paranoid if you want.

Not to mention that these people who don't vaccinate their children only get away with it because enough others do to keep herd immunity high.
