Blame parents. It is not the teacher's job to install values or manners in children. Granted some do try.

Correct, however, it has been my experience that the teachers conciously subvert the parents values. Being from CA, you ought to see that clearly.

And many parents willingly hand over the care of their kids to the schools.

I don't know what the answer is except that at 15, the late Charles Bishop was already 2 years into flying lessons. I would imagine that flying lessons do not come cheap. I wonder if these lessons are something he worked and paid for or were they typical of the overindulgence so many parents heap on their kids.

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to portray him as a victim, far from it. I only wonder if this is a case a kid raised with things instead of values.

Even though it has been reported that he was a "good" kid and was an honor student, obviously, he was not as good as people thought. Thank God the only one he took out was himself.

when i went to school, the teachers would "whup" your ass and call your parents and they would "whup" your ass again...it didn't take a village to raise a child, just a mean assed teacher and parents that would "whup: yore ass!!!

But only stupid parents allow that to happen.

That's exactly why we homeschool. Besides, even if the teacher isn't consciously subverting values, the curriculum is.
