Big deal. Clinton won by 30,000 votes in 1996 over Dole.
Thats after watching Clinton in office for FOUR YEARS! Tell me what conservative american would be MORE likely to vote for clinton in 1996 than they were in 1992?

Reasoning with Avocado is useless, better to pat him on the head and say "Of course you are right dear"...

I like Laser Video... I used to buy laserdiscs there. That's where I bought my 1995 SW special edition set. I buy my DVDs on-line at dvdempire.com on pre-order and get 30% off MSRP.

Americans must understand that a Fatwa asks all Muslims affiliated with an organization or who act alone to carry out attacks on America. That is the nature of all Islamic fatwas including Osama bin Laden's. So if your a troubled Muslim who wants to end it all you can go out and carry out an attack to get yourself killed and do so with the comfort the you die a jihad martyr.

Well so far we know he lived in FL a year, went to PUBLIC schools, and before that lived in that conservative bastion of Boston, MA, and was originally from England.
Your ship is sinking fast, your liberals don't do well when confronted by the actual facts.

Big deal. Clinton visited AZ three times vs. Dole none in 1996. AZ has only voted for one Dem presidential candidate in the last 50 years.

Ash, is that you? Seriously, though, we don't know what the politics of his parents are. My guess is that they're decidedly not conservatives. Tampa has liberals, too. Unfortunately, it's a disease that strikes every part of the country. The only cure I'm aware of is education, because its cause is ignorance, lack of character and ethics, and the belief that we should all get something for nothing.

Is it more or less stupid than the al-Qaeda/Taliban thinking they can take on US power?

Heck we don't even know where his dad is, or if he even knew his dad.

Why haven't we seen a yearbook photo of the kid yet??

And many parents willingly hand over the care of their kids to the schools.
I don't know what the answer is except that at 15, the late Charles Bishop was already 2 years into flying lessons. I would imagine that flying lessons do not come cheap. I wonder if these lessons are something he worked and paid for or were they typical of the overindulgence so many parents heap on their kids.
Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to portray him as a victim, far from it. I only wonder if this is a case a kid raised with things instead of values.
Even though it has been reported that he was a "good" kid and was an honor student, obviously, he was not as good as people thought. Thank God the only one he took out was himself.

Seems quite a miracle that the plane did not burst into flames so I am wondering where he left the note. What now, do we shoot down 15 yr. olds who take a plane out for a joyride......
This is complicated and I am wishing that the boy does NOT get a lot of publicity, giving other people any ideas about copycat flights.
Comments about him having too much money don't apply here as he worked at the flight school in exchange for flying time.
We have several small airports near us and many kids do the same and many youngsters take flying lessons........nearly all boys.

YOU are abusive in your attacks on this article. If you had only read past the first message, you would have found the subsequent validating articles, posted by others.

Heck we don't even know where his dad is, or if he even knew his dad. I agree. I don't think that should be the main focus. Like Walker and Reid -- I'm guessing that for him to be sympathetic to OBL he had to be under some degree of Islamic influence.

>Would it be better if every time anything happens, the government and the media all start screaming "terrorism" at the top of their voices until evidence proves it's not?[shrugs] When a country is at war, yes. When a country is at war, and when a country has already suffered at least four attacks by airplanes, and then you see an airplane sticking out of the side of a sky scraper, yes, you should start screaming "terrorism" until you have evidence that it is not.
Better safe than sorry. (An event like yesterday could easily have been a _signal_ which bin Laden could have used as a national trigger -- knowing it would receive national real time media hype -- to kick off other domestic cells into big time action. In fact, that still might be what was going on...)
Under conditions such as we're in, it's only logical to make "terrorism" the default choice. In times of peace it makes sense to default to accident theories. But in war situations, it makes sense to assume enemy action.

no one here is willing to blame his conservative upbringing What conservative upbringing? Far as I or anyone else knows there is only this vague information to go on:
1. He may be British
2. Someone claimed the pilot training school was pro-Arab
3. A male teenager committing violent, public suicide often harbors some hatred toward his father and wants to get back at him....but this is my own psychobabble that may not apply.
But he was brainwashed somewhere, maybe starting in liberal England where it's cool to be disdainful of America.
