"Actually he WAS from Britian..."

Hmm, you don't s'pose he might have gone to the same mosque as the shoe bomber guy?

Well, if the story above is correct, it appears that it was an intentional act of another Johnny Jihad, a product of the cultural sickness run amuck in our civic institutions that makes one hate one's country and makes loathe oneself for being an American. We can now expect the usual suspects to tell us he was a good little boy and didn't mean to hurt anyone.

"And answer the question WITHOUT using the results of any election."

I can tell you that Phoenix always wins awards because they are one of the most fiscally responsible cities in the USA. Don't know if that qualifies or not.

Is there a web site that allows you to search for a email address of a particular serviceman? I have a friend in the Army that I haven't been able to contact for a while....

no one here is willing to blame his conservative upbringing.

Hello, McFly - we don't know that he had a conservative upbringing. You're making that assumption based on no evidence.

What exactly defines a liberal city vs. a conservative city?

Billboards, taxes, domestic-partner benefits, suicide rates, the names of elementary schools, and smoking in restaurants.

This kid was not from Tampa. Palm Harbor is across the bay from Tampa in liberal Pinellas county. During the last presidential election as soon as you crossed the bridge going from Tampa into Pinellas county the Bush/Cheney bumper stickers disappeared and the Gore/Liebermans were everywhere. That's one way of assessing the local politics.

Then again, maybe he did have conservative parents and was rebelling from a rational approach to life, to the irrational left. But probabably politics had nothing to do with it.

OK I want details of his conservative upbringing, since I have seen no mention of it other than from you. Second, Tampa is liberal country, it is St. Petersburg and Sarasota that is normal.

You're forgetting San Diego.

Bush +4% in 2000. I don't have the data for the 1996, but hopefully they were more conservative than your neighbors in Arizona who went for Clinton that year. I know San Diego even went for Fong over Boxers in 1998 by +3. Very good. I appreciate the correction. Unlike Marajade's and her enabler Central Scrutiniser's propaganda, you have the numbers to back you up.

Has anybody seen anything on this kid's father? Excuse me for venting one of my own peeves, but this is a serious question. With the first Marin County Taliban recruit coming from a family where dad left home during junior's teenage years to go gay and move in with another man, the issue is worth some attention - attention it won't get in the media, which resolutely refuse to report the item. The kid's dropping the family name Lindh and calling himself by his mother's name of Walker is treated as an oddity unworthy of investigation.

In the Richard Reid story, Shoe Boy's dad was in prison when he was born. The black Jamaican converted to Islam in prison, where he has spent 18 of his 50 years. In the Tampa story, we hear about a mother and grandmother, but nothing about a father. Also, there seem to be no pictures of anyone.

There was a post yesterday asking people to vote for the media bias outrage of the week. My vote for continuing media outrage of the century is the absolute refusal to seriously discuss the social disaster engendered by children growing up without what liberals dismiss as the "Ozzie and Harriet" family.

San Diego lost their incumbent Republican Congressman to a Democrat in 2000 even though they voted for Bush. Bush carried AZ in 2000 by 8 pts, 4 pts more than San Diego. If you comparing San Diego with AZ I'd say AZ with 4 more pts is more conservative.

Only if you over look the fact that Clinton won Arizona in 1996 after the people of that state saw all the evil he did the previous 4 years. That can't be dismissed MJ.

What? Shooting up a school isn't good enough for kids any more?

I suppose you're feeling somewhat vindicated now, MindBender?

And all these CA and AZ politics relate to this story how? Or are you folks just trying to derail the discussion?

It makes me wonder what this boys' parents, relatives and teachers taught him to hate his country so much. When I grew up it was stories of WWII and the awesome price that was paid to keep our country free. What are the children over the past seveal decades or two been taught or told to instill this kind of hatred? Sickening!!

He was probably taught diversity, self esteem, and environmentalism.
