THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

I just don't think I am intelligent enough to understand what keyes is saying since he is so much smarter than the rest of us as we keep getting told.

I agree. Judging from your posts, you're not smart enough.

There is resentment by those who felt strongly that the election of Bush was a key national priority that Keyes' top priority was apparently not the election of Bush, after Bush secured the nomination. That resentment is understandable. Keyes has his own agenda, and I'm sure accepts the consequences. For myself, I accept Keyes being Keyes. He hasn't changed much over the years. What you see, is what you get. Some have a sort of perculiar anger that he didn't have an epiphaney, and assume some new personna and political role. Keyes is a hard wiring kind of guy. That hope or expectation was wholly unrealistic.

Oh, that's just your excuse for him not doing better.

Now, let's talk about your excuse for Alan Keyes trashing George W. Bush since the SECOND he clinched the GOP nomination to the present.

Gosh, when will they EVER learn not to bring a knife to a gun fight? We just do NOT make statements we cannot back up with facts!

You can say that again! I have had these articles for a long time just in case!

A paid Keyes worker; right here on FR;
told us ALL that if we didn't agree with Keyes'
on stem cells that we were NOT moral.

Is that a good enough answer?

It would be if you can back it up.

If anyone told you that you were evil
because you didn't hold their view on the issues,
you have every reason to hold then in contempt.

Ronald Reagan took 100% of the GOP back in 1984 & 1988.

In 2000, McCain took the left of the GOP, about 15%.

Bush took the base of the GOP + center, about 75%.

Keyes took the right 5%.

Pat took 5% with him to the Reform Party.

The problem with Keyes is that he attacks the base and the center with his holier than thou attitude. Now how the heck are you gonna win by doing that?

The GOP always picks the team player. Why do you think Bob Dole got the nomination in 1996? He took the left and center, about 55%. He was a team player. The base and right stayed home and he lost.

Tell me how many nasty things that President Bush said about keyes during the primaries!

As I said, those who are using the front runner strategy are the exception to the rule. It is a fairly successful way of manipulating the credulous, as you were manipulated, and there is nothing wrong with doing it. It is rather silly to think that this is due to some sort of virtue, as opposed to a political calculation.

By the way, what 'praising' are you stating that Keyes made of Gore.

Do you or does anyone remember when Keyes started supporting Bush?

Not until ten days before the election.

And I don't believe he's supported him since then.

I'll be glad to, Howlin.
When did Keyes trash Bush?

Give me an example,
and I'll make an excuse.

It has been a while since I watched my tape of Keyes speaking at a hotel in San Francisco, he was asked if he would support Bush and he responded in the affirmative. This was sometime in June or July of 2000, I may be wrong. I will try to review my tapes tomorrow and let you know exactly.

And how do you justify that moral giant, Mr. Keyes, calling George W. Bush, President of the United States, evil?

If you can cite a quote in which Dr. Keyes said that GWB WAS evil, as opposed to one in which he said that GWB DID evil, bring it on!

Your article was written when?

The convention was when? The election was when?

Surely, Howlin can tell you the date she 'heard' Keyes endorsed Bush!

Just to set the record straight and demonstrate typical Keyester tactics, I offer the following:

I posted to carenot, "It is an undisputed fact that a few people that actually do work for and are paid by Keyes are Freepers."

A deliberately misleading comment by another poster was,

"Your post suggests there's a good number of them....how about 3?"

310 posted on 1/4/02 7:56 PM Pacific by Rowdee

In what language does a few suggest a "good number"? Is not 3 a few? Unbelievable !!!!!!! It sort of tells the whole story of their MO. I guess it all comes back to the meaning of "is". It's laughable.
