Thanks to Buchanan and Perot, we lost the election to the pervert Clinton. Buchanan will just give the dems more amunition to attack conservatives.

You mean it had nothing to do with Bush's no new taxes and gun banning?

That evil Perot must have used his magical brainwashing powers to force people to vote for him when they really wanted to vote for the liar Bush.

Sad to say, the world does need a policeman. Our military is the only insulation that we have against tyranny

The world needs a policeman?

It is my honest opinion that if we aren't entangled in every other countries Bull sh*t, we wont have these damn problems of these murdering freaks and fanatics flying jet airliners into skyscrapers. The problems in the Mid East, Russia, China etc, are *NEVER* going to go away. Do we want to be part of their BS?

I believe the cracks are showing in the global intervention foundation. I also believe that continuing this down this path of global interventionism will end in chaos for the United States, as we have everything to lose. Much of this global interventionism is based on nothing but greed and power. In my honest opinion, this will lead to nothing but MORE trouble for the United States.

We could be very independent and still trade with friendly nations, and still have the worlds biggest and meanist military for *defense purposes* or even offensive purposes if needed, while at the same time, be very independent. We don't need to be and shouldn't be the global cop!

I feel its about time for the United States to become more independent. We were warned, many years ago about foreign entanglements. We should take notice.

What you call selfish, I call realistic. I will not be here in 2050, and in my present position, I am incapable of affecting this countries future. What is to be, is to be. I served for 8 yrs in the military, and another 20 in direct support of our military. What more do you think I could do to affect my countries future? Had I been born a founding father, I would probably think differently. As I stated earlier, no culture lasts forever. Would it help if I started worrying more?

Since you want to put this on cultural terms: Why do countries like Romania, Albania and Russia "suck" (your 2nd Grade language, not mine), while countries like Chile, Taiwan, Singapore, etc., all have dynamic societies? Being a racialist, I'm sure that you don't think that countries like England and France "suck," although they are inefficeint, stagnant societies with limited choices from the supermarket to employment.

Do some more traveling, talk with some of the people and then you can give a qualified opinion on which countries "suck," and why they do.

A last name like Lipshitz is a curse to start with. Thank God my grandfather or great-grandfather (I'm not sure which) changed it.

You probably are going to get the boot. It does seem to be a crime to defend one's ancestors in today's multi-cultural anti-intellectual enviroment if they are of European descent. Thanks to some hucksters what is conservatism is just another utopian death cult of the West. What is today's America is yesterday's USSR to these people who prattle on about "Universal Nationhood." The masses flooding our border have no reason to believe in the superiority of the West, the Left disdains this notion with a vengence and the Right just tries to apologize like an appliance salesman who just sold a lemon to a dupe and got caught.

The issue is [Buchanan's] qualification to lead. And he has not demonstrated that capacity in any regard.

B2000, you are right.

Just because America is the land where 'anybody can become president' does not mean we should elect just anybody.

Be careful using the "r" word on this forum. You are, however, correct in many of your comments. Let's just stay away from racial name calling.

BTW: Are you related to Lazaro Cardenas, who nationalized the oil fields in the 1930s?

Buchanan is one of the few in this nation with the guts to speak out in the face of this massive onslaught, yet is attacked routinely, as our elected so-called leaders stand treasonously silent.

More like vociferously promoting this massive onslaught.

I hear or read Buchanan and I have to shake my head and ask: 'but 95% of the people in this country actually voted for 'those other guys'? Neither one is qualified to even debate Pat.

Right up until 9-10 Bush was calling for open borders, but instead of blaming these insane free-for-all immigration policies for allowing the trojan horse to get into the United States, in the first place, we jump on the Bush bandwagon to launch an all out war on another country.

I read the posts on this thread and I fear for my country!

GWB wouldn't have been elected once, much less twice, if his name was George Green and his dad was a plumber.

That's your opinion. But the fact of the matter is that he has been governor twice and Buchanan has been nothing but a satirical joke.

That's not the issue. The issue is his qualification to lead

Wrong again my friend, the issue on this tread is his book 'death of the west'. Do you really think a mayor of 'Podunk Junction' is a prerequisite for writing contemporory, world renown classics?

James Carville was an advisor to Clinton

Lousey comparison. Carville is, was a negative campaigne consultant. Never participated in a summit. The only book he wrote, that no one read or are aware of was 'the 1st horse in town?'. Hell I can't even remember the title.

My statement doesn't have logic.

You can say that again. I am sure that there are many families that have lost husbands, wives, sons, daughters and other family members defending our country that would disagree with you. But, it was their sacrifices that gives you the right to post here.

As long as significant numbers of the people of those nations want our movies, blue jeans, and hamburgers, we'll be entangled. As long as there are others in the those nations who despise that, we will have fanatics to deal with.

We can limit our entanglement, but we will be a target of fanatics, just because of our success.
