"I wonder if we can test drop a Daisy Cutter on some cows in Vermont?"

In a way, we can. Vermonters did't vote for Jeffords because of his scintillating personality. They voted for him because he brought home the bacon. Boycott all Vermont products, especially dairy items like cheese, but also boycott everything else produceed in that state, eg. maple syrup, marble. It's easy -- just read the label, notice where it comes from, and put it back on the shelf. After awhile, all Vermont will produce will be traitors and homosexual marriage licenses.

what's it gonna take to cinch back this centralized governance to only the narrow list of responsibilities set forth by the Framers?

One idea is to require all legislation to cite the Constitutional article or amendment that specifically authorizes it.

However, this would be as difficult to get passed as term limits, because of the requirement to get it through congress. They're not anxious to pass any limitations on their behavior, and this I suspect is especially true of democRat congress critters.

I am betting it is the amount of money...and the fact that usually the money goes to administrators first, and what's left over gets trickled down to the rest, in the educational system.

Lessons learned: Nobody trusts or respects a turncoat.

Londoners treated Benedict Arnold with contempt.

You're usually rewarded with contempt and ostracization, after playing both sides against the middle. No one can trust you, it's common-sense logic.

The best part of making this public is that it may give pause to Lincoln Chaffee who has been threatening to leave the Republican Party as well.

James M. Jeffords...Proof positive that dumb, arrogant, disloyal and ugly is no way to go through life.

I don't doubt it. If you screw over your own people and go to the other side because they gave you a better offer, who's to say you won't do it again? A person like that is not worthy of trust or respect.

"I put the moderates back in business, and that alone has made a huge difference..."

Oh, he did? Does Zell Miller have more clout now? Can Louisian Senator John Bureaux [sp?] now get Bush's economic stimulus plan through the Democratically controlled senate?

No and no.

To liberals, the only 'moderates' they want to empower are weak, liberal Republicans, not semi-conservative Democrats.

$200 BILLION for special education? That does not sound right. $200 MILLION, maybe.

No,I think the billion figure may be the right one. Face it,a couple of hundred million ain't enough to get retards through law and medical schools. Or even to hire Jesse Jackson as a speech coach at Harvard.

Repeat after me,"Our diversity is our strength".

Ugh. I just visualized Vermont streets with "Wedding" Chapels like one would find in Gatlinburg, TN, or Las Vegas, NV.

Be careful what you wish for.

I guess his thirty pieces of silver did not make him happy.

Yeah, he was a non-entity before; and, now he is still a non-entity. Funny how that works.

I don't know which would make me more angry, the fact that the Reps wouldn't take him back and stay in the minority, or the fact that they would take him back just to regain the majority.

It's a no-brainer. Take him back and forget he exists.

I'd like to see Jeffords go out on a date with Condidit. Maybe we would all get lucky and he would mysteriously disappear.
