How Do We Destroy Political Correctness In America.

Political correctness has become a scourge on the American landscape. Every day, some alert freeper posts at least one story whereby some individual or organization brazenly strips someones rights under the guise of "diversity", or alleged racism, or ersatz interpretation of the Constitution. Our universities, our state and federal bureauocracies,national news media and Hollywood have all surrendered in one way or another to this terrorism.

We have some of the best minds in the country posting here, so I thought what better place to find the "cure" than to solicit my fellow freepers. After all, it will be up to people like ourselves to stop this insideous onslaught of mind control.

As long as schools and colleges are "rewarded" with Federal $$ for their PC, we'll have more PC jammed down our throat.

We become the loud majority!! When it is suggested we say Happy Holidays we continue to say Merry Christmas. When our public school children are told that Christmas is Santa while Ramadan, Kwanzaa and Hannuaka symbols are posted on banners around schools we kindly remind the teachers that a manager scene would be appreciated. Also, when we are asked to fundraise for schools (already doing this) ask the principal why is a fundraiser needed when you are providing breakfast for every student in the classroom every morning taking 40 minutes a day away from teaching? Seems to me that if breakfast is served there is enough money and I no longer need to fundraise. Boy I hope I make sense. Don't wait to vote someone out...be verbal in the meantime. :)

Bravo. Constructive advice!

You grasp an important truth: that we all are front line soldiers in the current Culture War. Everyday conversational norms have been co-opted by the radical left. Each of us can make a big difference. Freepers: don't let things slide, call 'em on it. Stay calm, put logic over emotion.

One of my recent favorites in small conversational groups is to reply to a blatant liberal: "you are too intellegent to hold such emotional opinions". They bristle at this, but they walk away in deep thought.

Maceman, you are the ACEMAN!! There are a mere 4 of us in Ventura, California who stopped the school board from teaching from a pro homosexual/ anti straight lesson plan.We heard that 5 of the 9 board members(all left wingers in a conservative county) were going to approve this lesson plan, so we showed up at the school board meetings, all armed with video cameras. One after another of us raised hell at that meeting. Then, after the meeting, we personally approached the board members with our minicams running, and asked them why they were voting for an anti heterosexual lesson plan, and was the local ABC affiliate aware of THEIR vote, and if not, we will supply them with the videotape. You have never seen 9 people run for cover like this unless you saw Hichcock's "The Birds". We also protested in front of the school, and alerted ABC and our other local access channel of the protest, and BOTH showed up. The final vote was 7-2 AGAINST!! ""

Political Correctness is a by-product of the 60s mentality. Socialism, love....blah, blah, blah. I remember when I was a kid the rhyme "sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never harm me." Somehow when the psychologists and socialists got hold of the younger generation, this rhyme went out the window. If the psychological profession would get a bit more realism and out of the feeling realm, we might see it break up.

It is those very 60's kids(myself excluded)who are running the universities, and public schools now. I really believe we need to dismantle the public school system as they have become nothing more than "brainwashing institutions" for the left.

Okay, the Clintons did REAL damage to the country,as it made millions inured to criminal behavior. But just as there was a Jimmy Carter, there can rise another Ronald Reagan type, who in 6 months rendered Carter just a faded memory.

Case in point coach of the Denver Nuggets Dan Issel. He was a member of the Denver organization for 26 years. Well respected and loved in the community. A single UNPC incident costs him his job and more than $112,000 in fines. An agonizing public apology didn't help him either. His crime? After being taunted and heckled by a fan while leaving the court after a hard fought loss to the Charlotte Hornets he said, "Go drink another beer, you Mexican ......., adding an expletive! By the way NO ONE would dare say what the fan said to Dan Issel for 2 hours plus.

I have been called much, much worse in my lifetime, no one ever lost there JOB because they called me a WOP or a DAGO or a guinea.
