No, you don't get it.

Americans have a right to be Marxists if they so desire, they have a right to seek political office as Marxists if they so desire. Americans have a right to celebrate, or create, a Holiday if they so desire, and worship the Eternal Marshmallow if they so desire.

The thing about Freedom, is that EVERYONE has the same Freedoms.

And the president of the United States is duty bound to safe guard the rights of these people to celebrate Kwanzaa, because he is the President of ALL THE PEOPLE, not just you, and those who agree with you.

I don't disagree. However, President Bush should not be legitimizing such racist, marxist nonsense. Would you be saying the same thing if he recognized the anniversary of the founding of the KKK? Racism isn't illegal, the KKK isn't illegal, wearing stupid bedsheets on your head isn't illegal. But for the president to even give that crap the time of day is a complete mistake.

Who's rights is he failing to safeguard if he rightfully ignores Kwanzaa? Is he also failing to safeguard the rights of the KuKluxers if he fails to recognize their misguided holidays (if there are any)?

Do you get it now?
