So your point is that Osama bin Laden is really one of the good guys?

Glad you joined FR, don't know what we would have done without your insight.

No, I disagree with your term "terrorist" ... "rebels", "damned rebels", "ungrateful wretches" and various other labels are the tags that the British government and Tories attached to the Founding Fathers. I don't believe I have ever read a direct quote from a historical figure that had them referred to as "terrorists".
If you have one, please cite. It would be appreciated.

The founding fathers of the United States were considered terrorists by the legal government of the colonies.Do you think the term was used then? Do you think that the definition would have been the same across time if it had been?

There is huge difference between colonials trying to throw off a tryannical government and bloodthirsty, murdering fanatics killing innocent people.

Please enlighten us. Which famous 18th century British landmark (on the English islands) did we destroy, and kill thousands of innocent non-combatants in the process?
When you can point that out, I'll listen to you. Otherwise, pardon me if I excercise expresion of my personal opinion that your are a "moral-equivalence" knucklehead.

So, you've never read the Declaration of Independence, have you?

My point has nothing to do with Bin Laden or anyone else. My point is that what is considered patriotism by us was the same as if one of the United States decided to break away from the rest. Would it still be patriotic if Texans decided they wanted to be their own country?

The founding fathers of the United States were considered terrorists by the legal government of the colonies What is your point. Is this why why you logged into FR. Your little one liner is a waste of space.
What did the founding fathers blow up that caused the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians? Nothing. You disgust me.

The US has weapons of mass destruction, yet tries to dictate to other sovereign states that they cannot develop such weapons. Pure imperialist hypocracy
That's pure liberal claptrap on your part, Mr. Moral Equivalence, or perhaps it should be Mr. Moron Equivalent...

Help me out here. Did you vote for Ralph Nader or Harry Browne in the last election?

Sorry that b/s won't fly - the truth is bin laden killed innocents to fight those who don't believe in his god and the negative influence of western culture on his pure form of islam. The founding fathers were tired of paying taxes without representation and being governed without said representation.

"Would it still be patriotic if Texans decided they wanted to be their own country?"If we Texans decided that we wanted to be our own country, I would expect real Texans to fight against the established armed forces of the United States and against "Tory" equivalents within the state.
I would not expect them to blow up the Lincoln Memorial, dynamite Redskins Stadium during a football game, or send out "Suicide Salsa" terrorists against US airlines.
Even if I were in favor of such a separation, I would condemn those taking actions such as these against unarmed non-combatants and would take what actions I could to end their miserable lives before they could do so.

This response is to many of the posters that I find on Free Republic lately. Have we become just a bunch of bullies, a person cannot have an opinion whether we agree or not? If someone posts something that you disagree with instead of arguing your point intellegently, you make fun of them and paste their joining date. I am tired of that, I have noticed a distinct change in the character of us freepers and I dont like it. Please let's grow up and debate and learn and hopefully make a difference. Mitch Rushton
