It's amazing what they can do with computer animation these days.

I've never believed the "coded messages to sleeper cells" excuse, as you can tell. Its pretty shallow.
I am with you. What exactly is his message? Try to kill a bunch of Americans! Quick! I am wearing the blue lapel pin! That is your signal!
Its all rather silly.

What do you think the probabilities are that the Bush Administration would actually allow
that video to air HERE? Of course, that wouldn't matter if it was seen in other countries. Personally, I think the chances of OBL offing himself are about as high as the probabilities of pigs flying. ;-)

Right, who knows if any tapes have coded messages or not. The bottom line is that it wouldn't be prudent to underestimate whatever evil these wackos cook up.

What exactly is his message? For some reason Clinton wearing Monica's tie came to mind.

put on your tinfoil hat, he may also be using the mind control satellites. would hate to see you turn into a tool of terror.

"It's amazing what they can do with computer animation these days."What do you mean? You think the tape is a fake? I'm not being sarcastic, just curious.

Well the contents of this tape (at least from what I can see) are still speculation. Could be all kinds of stuff. Best bets at this juncture are that it's a normal video message that hadn't made it out of the country when our boys captured it, or that OBL is talking about stuff (capabilities maybe) that our leaders haven't told us about. Either way I don't see any reason to give OBL more air time than we absolutely have to, the more anonymously he dies the better.

There's something too pat about this. OBL just happens to be caught on video discussing the attacks and the tape just happens to be found!!?? He wanted it found and shown IMHO!
For what reason....I have no idea.......

I absolutely agree. Bin Laden has received the best PR possible by our news media. That's sick.

Well, if this tape was deemed as dangerous to the public or the administration thought it held some type of secret message, I don't think they would release it to the public. Just MHO, though.

Overall it's the safest and most effective form of secure communication.safer and more effective than "tune in at 7 pm kabul time for the 5 minute Taliban news update"? It doesn't even have to be that, it could be some choice of music on some other, completely unrelated shorwave station.
please. its hokey. again. whats the message? "kill gringos tomorrow"? what if my station doesn't show the tape? thats some real "effective" communication. But its nice to think that we are up against masterminds. Really they're just people with airline schedules, box-cutters, a wish to die, and the ability to commit credit card fraud. other than the wish to die, petty criminals really.

Yeah, I was just thinking about that. However, maybe it was one of his "stupider" minions that decided to tape him. I don't know. We'll find out soon enough, I guess.

Is this the one where his face turns purple and he stomps out of the room?

This is just being reported on MSNBC as a "new development": US Military Drops Daisy Cutters on Tora Bora Complex"...hm. One reporter just said that just a few minutes ago a news reporter on the ground said he heard the sound of "choppers". Hmmmmmm.

LOL. I don't think so. The media hyped that one up good, didn't they? The information about this tape is coming from the VP himself. We'll just wait and see.

I don't speak Arabic or Afgan... so I really don't care.
Seems to me it will just be subjected to media spin, and a host of experts to analyze.
I suppose that is why it will be released. (give the media something to do)

Of what use would be a message that would depend on american forces finding a tape in a shack in afghanistan . . . I believe it could be of tremendous use to someone who first, used this means of communication, and second, was having difficulty getting his tapes widely broadcast. He may have been plotting for weeks how get a tape aired in the US, and this is his solution. After all, what better way than offering up a "confession" on a tape seemingly not meant for public consumption?
