When you say "Some Other Stuff" is out there, is it out there in like a Cecil Taylor/Ornette Coleman way(free), or out there in an Eric Dolphy way (i.e.-cross between hard bop and free)?
It kinda reminds me of Eric Dolphy's "Out to Lunch".

The problem is that rap and jazz are not musical. I just don't get it. I've tried, I just don't get it. The people who say they get it, are the same ones that can't clap to the music, or dance in time. They're music lovers, for sure, they just don't know why. ...oh, well...Let me take rap out of this for a second - are you really saying that people who "get" jazz have no sense of rhythm, and that they love music but don't know anything about it? And jazz is "not musical"? Nah...couldn't be. (I'm a professional musician also - 25 years.)
If you're wondering if it's you, no offense, but it is.

amazing album . . . Teo Macero did a great job producing that one.

In almost all of the groups I've been with, when a player made a mistake and the others looked at him/her,.....the most consistent response to this reaction was....."JAZZ"

"We've Only Just Begun", by the Carpenters.
Okay, what's the punch line? (That was a joke, right?)

Do you have Wes Montgomery's fingerpickin'? GREAT ALBUM! I have the complete riverside set. It's worth the $200.

anyone who says that has no idea what they're talking about.

I only wish I could afford that set. Wes Montgomery remains my favourite jazz guitarist. And...the best news...he never forgot the blues!

There's a differnce between jazz and real music played jazzed up. I can put ANYONE on piano in a jazz band and have them pound out ANYTHING and if they looked like they meant to do it, most 'jazz' fans would eat it up.

all those albums are well produced. basically, they let the tapes roll and then eidted the 'best parts' together. There are almost no 'whole takes' on any of those albums.

Bitches Brew, you're no Miles In The Sky...

I doubt you'd want to compare your resume to mine. I did't say you shouldn't like jazz, I just said it's not musical. It makes no musical sense.
