Olympia Dukakis in Steel Magnolias - the southern womans version of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" -

"If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me!"

"If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me!"

Originally said by Alice Longworth Roosevelt - daughter of TR. Stolen by a Hollywood writer. But a great line nevertheless.

Some favorites from Bette Davis - one of the greats.

Bette Davis as Charlotte Vale in, Now Voyager: --- "Oh, Jerry, we have the stars, let's not ask for the moon. "

Bette as Margo Channing regarding women getting older: - "Bill's thirty-two. He looks thirty-two. He looked it five years ago, he'll look it twenty years from now. I hate men."

Bette Davis as Madge Norwood in Cabin in the Cotton: - "I'd love to kiss you, but I just washed my hair."

Bette Davis as the evil adultress Rosa Moline in Beyond The Forest: "What a dump!" (Later mimicked by Elizabeth Taylor in 'Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf')

And just a plain old quote from the great dame herself:

Bette on gay rights: "Gay Liberation? I ain't agin it, it's just that there's nothing in it for me."

Re your #85: One of those closest to my heart(father-Infantry, Vietnam, small town born n' raised)

Platoon help to fortify the leftist urban myths about who fought in Vietnam and what went on. Recommend a copy of Stolen Valor as a Christmas Gift.
